A year...

It had been a year since it happened. Her mother killed, her father thrown in jail, and her older brother becoming a temporary legal guardian. All in the same day.

It's not so long... is it?

It was probably a little uncanny to have her older brother become her temporary guardian, since he had found out about having ancestors who were vampire hunters... on that day. Arisa had kept it from him all along, every day, every night, guilt washing over her heart and body. She wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to let him know that she found out before him and kept it to herself. He would probably become indignant, and she would become desperate. Arisa clawed at her bedspread, intent on seeing her father, wanting to ask him why... why he killed her simply because she had turned into a vampire.

Was she never supposed to know vampires existed? Well, that was all torn apart when she was eight.

The same went for the recurring event of seeing his weapons. Her older brother had shunned his father when he found out he had killed their mother with a stake driven through her heart, and the explanation of why he had done it, which led to the explanation of telling his oldest child (and youngest child) they were descended from ancestors who hunted down vampires for a living. Arisa did her best to pretend being shocked, which her father took as real, and every emotion she displayed that evening and every physical body language she presented to him, was truly fake. She had screamed, cried, for days. Arisa had not taken the news or the murder so lightly. Neither had her older brother, but he was a bit more mature with the situation. Up until now, Arisa is still unsure of what to think.

Were her feelings genuine, or were they truly pseudo?
