One Year Later

In Ginny's seventh year, Dumbledore decided to invite back three students from each house who had graduated the year previous to tell the seventh years what happened in the year after they left. These students were Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Harry Potter (Gryffindor…duh) Ernie Macmillan, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Hannah Abbott (Hufflepuff) Cho Chang, Luna Lovegood, Terry Boot (Ravenclaw) Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, and Draco Malfoy (Slytherin).

--

Ginny had for the most part enjoyed the speeches made by the ex-students. She laughed as Hermione scared most student s with her "house elves are people Too" speech. Though Hermione's speech was by far the most entertaining, Ginny couldn't stop smiling during Draco's speech. They had been secretly dating for almost two years now and were definitely in love.

--

"Draco where are we going?" asked a confused Ginny. Draco had pulled her into a slightly dim corridor.

"Ginny, I was going to wait until after you graduated but I can't wait any more," he said in a soft voice that he only used when he was around her. Then, he got down on his knee and said, "Ginevra Weasley, I love you with all of my heart and you make me feel I'm the best and worst person in the world and if you'll have me: Will you be my wife?" At that he reached into his pocket and open a small felt box that held a gold ring with a large diamond set with two wine red rubies.

Ginny grinned and said "So how are we going to tell my family?"

"Is that a yes?"

"Of course that's a yes!" cried Ginny. Draco smiled and as he slide the ring on her finger they found themselves in a heated kiss as many times before. He pushed her against the wall and his tongue probed her mouth. She moaned and ran her fingers through his hair. Little did they know that where they were standing was the quickest path to where the Golden Trio were staying.

--

The couple broke apart when they heard a loud clattering. They turned and saw the Trio: Ron's face was blue, Harry's was one of shock, and Hermione look like she was bursting to say "I told you so."

Ron was stuttering something along the lines of "Malfoy….. Ginny…. What ….. Sister" then yelled, "Get your bloody hands off my sister, you Son of a Death Eater!"

"Now is that any way to talk to your future Brother in Law?" said Draco in his usual drawl.

"Ginny what's he talking about?" demanded Harry, who had regained powers of speech.

"Well," smiled Ginny, "Draco asked me to marry him and I said yes." Draco smiled at her.

"You can't marry him he's, he's……."

"Shut up, Ron!" commanded Hermione, "Ginny congrats, Malfoy…."

"Yes," said Draco.

"Good luck," she smirked, "You'll need it." Ron looked at her in bewilderment then stormed off yelling about how everything is going to hell. Hermione and Harry turned and left as well.

"Ya know," said Ginny with a half smile, "by breakfast tomorrow there will be fifty different rumors going around school about us?"

"Yeah, but that only makes things more fun," he replied with a smile and leaned over to kiss her again.
