Greed x Kimbley, one-shot. Don't own either character x3 enjoy the fluff.
No one would have heard it, the ever so soft click of a door opening, well no human would have. Greed wasn't a human and with over a century of confinement his senses were sharper because of years of straining to hear or see something. Odd, that's all he could label the matter at hand, the particular person that had come up from the basement was never quiet. The sin opened one violet cat like eye and frowned, over on the felt couch was the only alchemist in his group. But something didn't look right about him, his gold eyes were dull and haunted, his hair messy and it looked like he hadn't bothered to smooth it back into its binding, normally he never had a blanket but now there was one clenched firmly around his shoulders.
The sound of a glass shattering made the alchemist jump and look around, Greed had to admit that even for Kimbley that was irregular. "Something the matter my dear alchemist?" he asked and Kimbley looked at him quickly, golden eyes huge with shock and hints of fear, "I'm not your 'dear alchemist'!" he hissed and the sin sat up, looking at him evenly, "But you are my alchemist, don't forget that. Now what's wrong?" Greed sighed and Kimbley shrugged, holding tighter onto the blanket, one of his bare feet just barely showing from under it. "Can't sleep, why are you up?" Kimbley asked, trying to turn the conversation around on the sin, who just shook his head as he took off his sunglasses.
"Don't go trying to turn this back around to me. You were sleeping just fine when I took you downstairs so what was the nightmare about?" Kimbley stiffened in shock and slight annoyance, looking away from Greed and staring at the wall for a while before he reached back and smoothed his hair back. "I didn't have a nightmare." He muttered tugging the ribbon from his hair, Greed rolled his eyes and watched as the alchemist tried to bind his hair back. Finally Kimbley let out an exasperated sigh and looked at the sin, obviously annoyed, "Could you help?" he asked and Greed shook his head, "Not until you tell me what your nightmare was about." The sin stated firmly and Kimbley scowled, grabbing the closest throw-able object and throwing it at Greed.
The sin simply brought up his Shield and the glass shattered harmlessly against the side of his face. "Damn you." Kimbley growled before glaring down at the floor, Greed waited knowing that the alchemist would speak when he was ready. "My family…betraying me again…" he mumbled eventually and the sin frowned, he only knew so much about Kimbley's family but what he didn't know is they betrayed him. "Stupid thing I know but…they sold me to that psychopath a-and." Kimbley stopped talking and hid his face with the blanket, Greed got up off his couch and walked over to sit beside the alchemist. When he was right next to Zolf he was able to hear muffled, stuttering sobs, the sin wrapped his arms around Kimbley and rubbed his back gently.
Eventually the alchemist stopped crying and shifted away from Greed, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." The sin said softly and Kimbley shook his head, "It's fine…I think I'm gonna try an sleep again." He mumbled moving to get off the couch, Greed grabbed the alchemist's wrist and Kimbley froze. "What?"
The sin tugged Kimbley closer and laid down on the couch, Kimbley laying against his chest. "I don't want you being alone when you're like this." Greed stated as the alchemist relaxed against his chest, "Mmm, didn't know you cared." Zolf said softly and the sin smirked, "I do."
"Monster." "Freak."
Real short I know, but I wrote this rather quickly (about a week). Thanks for reading ^_^
