Five more minutes

The rain began quickly, too sudden for Temari to return to her hotel.
"Tch, fine," was her escort's reaction when she asked to stay with him. They were only a quick walk to it.
As they stepped into his house, she shivered slightly as she shook the water from her hair. With his parents away, the house was in a slight mess.
"Jeez woman," Shikamaru said, "Do that in the bathroom."
She kicked him in the leg for the rude remark, before going upstairs to clean up.
When she was all dried up, she returned downstairs, ready for dinner.
Shikamaru looked at him from the table. "Since when did you care about getting too wet? Your hotel really wasn't so far away."
She looked at him. "Well, these clothes are all that I have with me for the trip, so I didn't want them to be soaked, plus with tomorrow's meeting I don't want to end up getting sick."
A flash of lightning flooded the dark room with light, causing Shikamaru to look out the window, and Temari to flinch.
"Storm's getting worse," he said casually.
"It will pass."
"After a while."
The rest of the meal was eaten in silence, save the cracking of thunder in the background.
The two split into separate rooms for the night.
As Shikamaru tried to sleep, a crack of thunder filled the air, louder than any of the ones before it.
He felt a 'thud' from the floor, and he got up groggily to see what was wrong.
He checked her room, only to find Temari on the ground, curled up with her hands at her ears.
Shikamaru smiled amusingly. "Of all things, you're afraid of thunder and lightning?"
He helped her back up to the bed.
"Shut up. We don't get such storms in Suna, alright? I'm just not used to it, that's all."
"More like petrified of it."
"Am not."
"Fine," he replied, walking away. "Pleasant dreams then."
Another bolt of lightning.
Temari shuddered. "Alright alright, I'm a little scared."
He turned around smirking.
"So it wasn't about getting wet, was it?"
She looked away, blushing.
He sat beside her on the bed, and as more thunder filled the air, she held onto him.
They sat there together in silence for a long time, waiting for the storm to pass.
"Alright," Shikamaru said softly, slowly releasing from her. "I think the worst is over."
"Wait," she said, holding his shirt. "Just five more minutes, please?"
He smiled comfortingly and sat back down, holding her back.
The morning came, and it was very much different to last night.
Temari looked up slowly, trying to cope with the idea of being awake.
She closed her eyes again, wanting more rest.
Instead she felt the soft rhythm of breathing at her neck. She opened her eyes once again.
Shikamaru laid there, sleeping soundly.
She pushed him off the bed, falling onto the cold wooden floor below.
"Ow! What was that for?"
She frowned. "For sleeping with me, instead of leaving when you knew I'd be okay."
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever." he got up and left the room.
When he was gone, she smiled and looked at the now clear sky.
Thank you.
End.
