"I don't want to talk about it."

Set after the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I don't really know if Edmund is old enough for University applications, but why not? It's fanfiction after all.

I have more written for this but I don't know if I will add it on. Do you think I should add the rest? It's rather fluffy the rest...

Peter walked through the house, searching all the rooms for Edmund. It seemed that Edmund had been hiding from him, well everyone, for the last few days. He only turned up at meal times, but then again there were times he didn't.

Peter sighed, pushing open the last door he hadn't tried. His frustrated sigh quickly turned to a sigh of relief when he spotted Edmund chewing his lip, looking at a pile of papers on a table.

Peter slipped inside, and snapped the door shut. Edmund looked up, still chewing his lip. "You know you can never hide from me," Peter said good naturedly.

Edmund offered him a weak smile and a shrug, and watched as Peter crossed the room, and sat down in the chair next to him.

"What's that you're looking at?" Peter asked keeping his tone light.

Edmund pushed the papers over to him silently. "Ah, University applications, fun."

"Yes, loads," Edmund smirked sarcastically.

Peter looked down at the papers again, and smiled at Edmund's signature at the bottom of them. Edmund Pevensie was sprawled out gracefully on the line, in the very same manner Edmund would have signed a new law, or a treaty back in Narnia. The only thing missing was King, and the Just.

"Old habits die hard, I see," Peter said pointing to the signature.

Edmund smiled sadly, "I suppose so."

Watching Edmund go back to biting his lip, Peter resigned himself to the real reason he'd sought Edmund out. He reached over, and gently pulled Edmund's lip out from the clutches of his teeth, and asked, "So how are you doing with that?"

"With what?"

Peter looked pointedly at the signature, and back at Edmund. "Oh, that," Edmund said softly.

"Yes, that. Lucy seems to be having a bit of a time with it."

"And you thought, you'd come and check up on me?" Edmund asked deducting the reasons for Peter coming to talk to him.

"Something like that," Peter replied.

Edmund nodded but didn't say anything, just went back to incessantly worrying his lip.

"So?" Peter prompted.

"So…I don't really want to talk about it."

"Yeah, I didn't want to talk about it either," Peter said understandingly.

"I remember, but you eventually did," Edmund said, eyes lost in the memory.

"You will too," Peter's voice bringing Edmund out of a memory of Peter staring tearfully at him.

"I don't think so."

"You will," Peter said firmly.

"Look, I-I, um, need to finish this by the end of the week," Edmund drew the applications back towards him.

Taking the hint that Edmund wanted to be left alone, Peter got up. "If, if you want to talk," he said looking at Edmund imploringly.

Edmund ignored him, and went back to filling out the application. Peter smiled at him sadly, and slipped out, shutting the door quietly behind him.
