Euphoria Midnight

King Leonidas marched outside his house after a warm evening with his spouse

He came up to a large silent stone

He knew that tomorrow would be violent, so it was good to be alone

His thoughts were many and they troubled him

But he knew that he still no matter what had to win

After having a seat on the rock and taking a big sigh he gazed up at the dark azure night sky

It seemed endless, and its mystical light was relentless

Just like the power of his troops, they were the only proof that Sparta still had a sense of pride

Hence so many these days took the bribe

King Leo knew in his mind that it was only a matter of time

Xerxes was coming soon, and many innocent were about to meet their doom

Still, he knew that his soldiers would sacrifice their lives for their nation, and protect many from horrific devastation

A big smile came across his face

A loss wasn't possible in this fulsome place

He and his warriors tomorrow would not retreat for that would be worse than deadly defeat

They would stand and fight, charge at day, and plunder by night

He knew that the god king would come

But the golden days of Greece and Sparta had only begun.
