In her hearts of hearts, she knows that time can be ever-changing and fate can be changed with a flick of a wrist.
She had longed to die; falling to the ground, from a won battle with an accursed deity, and the ground catching her. However, she now questioned why she fell. The deities fell into decoys, tainting what was pure about such godly beings. With destroying the witches, she was cleansing them all.
An infinite life was reclaimed, and the witches would never become the gods as they were promised by false memories. Into the shadows, she fell. She would only be turning back time and repeating the same death over and over, cursing herself for making the same mistake. She would fall as they, the magical girls, would fade into nothing.
Homura Akemi has burnt the sky, and it is then when she truly realized the nature of her own mortality.
