He turned his head to look at the statuesque creature standing in the door frame. The loud music thumping through the club seemed to mute itself as she walked toward him, her hips swaying to what remained in his head of the beat. He had no idea how women could walk so beautiful and gracefully with high heels. However it happened, he loved it best with her. It seemed to happen naturally.
The second he saw her he knew that she was the only woman that he would have an ounce of trouble charming.
The closer she got the more he admired her. Her petite torso was framed by a long black shirt, and her long legs were in dark jeans that made her backside look perfect. The tall black heels she walked so beautifully in were clicking on the floor along with the song. She sat in an empty seat at the bar, and he noticed her perfect posture. The empty red leather stool between them was the only thing stopping him from making a move. So, he casually switched seats and slid his drink smoothly across the marble bar.
She looked over at him as she put her elbow on the bar, lifting her hand to her wavy brown hair to support her head. He noticed a thin red ribbon of silk tied around her wrist; a simple thing that made him lust after her even more. Her green eyes looked straight into his brown ones.
"Can I buy you a drink?" He asked, leaning a bit closer to her.
He couldn't help but give half a smile at her low laughter. "You know, I usually deduct points for unoriginality." She looked at him longer, seeming to make a decision. She grinned. "But in your case I'll make an exception."
He grinned and called the bartender without taking his eyes off her. She placed her order and looked back at him.
He extended a hand. "Ari Haswari."
She ignored his advance at a formal handshake, leaned toward him, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Kate Todd."
He smiled. "That's quite the unconventional replacement for a handshake."
She furrowed her eyebrows slightly and grinned cockily. "Is that a complaint?"
"No, no," he laughed. "Not at all."
OMG I'm so lame xD
But I thought I'd throw this out there. Couldn't hurt anything. Except retarded Kari flamers
Things in Bete Noir that made me want to write this pointless shit that never happened:
The look Kate gave Ari when he randomly jumps out of autopsy and points a gun at her
That whole conversation that was like
Kate: "I have no intention of getting to know you better."
Ari: "Are you sure?"
And just my general love for all things Kari.
