Bobby was at Alex's Beach Crest house. It was night, and it was raining.
"I'm not goanna let get to me," Alex said, facing the drenched windows. She was standing up. She was referring to Nicole Wallace, who had been harassing her since she started dating Bobby.
Bobby did not know what to say. He was not sure of what she was about to do.
"Eames…" Bobby said.
"Goren, this is final," Alex said. What was she talking about? He was confused.
"What's final?" Bobby asked.
"This…" Alex said in kind of a hissing voice. She opened the door to the outside world. She looked out at the down falling rain. It was magnificent. Tranquil. It was an escape from the outside world. Without caring about how drenched she would be. She stepped outside.
Bobby looked at her as though the world had gone mad. But yet… yet he wished to have the same escape. The same peace with the world Alex had. But yet he didn't wish to disturb her loud, but yet calming place. Where she could feel the world and the world could feel her. And no one was yelling, or bickering.
Alex put her hands up. She closed her eyes. She felt at peace. Something she had not felt for a very long time. The rushing water splashing down on her exhilarated her. Nobody would care to look, as it was a late time of night, and nobody felt like going out in the rain.
Alex simply stood there, wishing the rain, and utter darkness would never leave. She did not care how wet her clothes were. It was only water. She did not care that she was freezing. It would be more freezing inside her house with Bobby.
She tilted her head up, and breathed in the fresh scent of the cool, cold night. No animals were there to make noises that would distract her.
She tried walking towards her lawn. She fell. She got back up again. Nothing was going to stop her. She took off her shoes, and felt the cool grass crunch beneath her feet.
No matter what Nicole did or said, she was always going to be in love Bobby. Nobody could change that. Nobody was going to change the fact that they always going to be in love.
Just because Nicole tried to kidnap her once already, it would never change how much she loved Bobby. Just because Nicole mocked her, that would never change how much she loved Bobby. Just because Nicole tried to take Bobby away from her, she would succeed because he loved Alex right back. Nothing was going to change how much they loved each other. It was an eternal love that would last until the day they both were dead. An essence of what true love was. It was the perfect connection. Unbreakable. Unsinkable. But unlike the Titanic it was meant to last, through its maiden voyage, and beyond. Nicole couldn't touch it. She was like the ice berg in their life, but the ice berg this time would not sink them.
Alex stood there and contemplated what she had to give up. But no matter what she had to sacrifice it would no stop her from being with the man she loved. She believed up in heaven, where her dead husband Joe was, he would not care if she was falling in love, he would only care if she was happy, and protected by someone who truly loved her, even if it wasn't him. She was happy, despite Nicole and her thwarting ideas to destroy her and Bobby's relationship. She was happy. Truly happy.
