I'm Leaving
by Mizz Priscilla
If could forget him, I would. Please believe me. And I know I should throw the towel in, but baby it's not that easy. You treat me so much better than him, and if I was sane, there'd be no competition, but I'm in love with someone else.
You should go and find someone else, who can treat you right and give you the world. Someone who understands the way you are, cause you shine so bright and I would just dim your light. A girl who'll treat you like you treat them. There are plenty women who would love to have a man like you.
I can't explain why it's him and not you, but at the end of the day I just don't want to. He's not a doctor and we always seem to fight. Sometimes he doesn't even treat me right, but when I'm with him there is no one else like it. I'm so sorry that I have to do this to you, but I can't go on pretending. I love him and I'm so sorry.
I'll never forget you.
Kagome
Two tears dropped on the page just as Kagome signed her name. Kouga would be devastated, but there was no avoiding it. She could no longer pretend to love. Especially when another man held her heart.
Kagome wiped her tears and placed the letter on what was once their bed. Her bags were packed and waiting by the door. Sesshoumaru was parked outside with engine still running. They wanted to make a quick getaway. She cursed her luck when she heard the commotion outside.
"No!" Kouga yelled. "She's not going with you. You can't have her." Kagome peaked out the bedroom window. She felt every bit the coward she was.
Sesshoumaru stayed calm, ignoring Kouga's challenge for Kagome. He'd already won, and they both knew it. Sesshoumaru said as much. "You've already lost her. Let her go." The words were kinder than he meant them to be.
Kagome grabbed her bags and exited the house. "Kouga I can't do this anymore. It's… it's just not working for me." Tears were streaming down Kouga's face. He wanted to protest, but the words were caught in his throat.
Kagome rushed past him and hopped into Sesshoumaru's convertible. "I'm sorry," she said, though she knew the were little solace for the pain she'd caused.
Sesshoumaru backed out of the driveway and proceeded away from the broken man and his empty home and heart. He took the left hand of the beauty next to him and kissed her ring finger. A 24-karat diamond sparkled on it. Soon, he thought. Soon.
Kagome looked at his pale face when she felt his soft lips caress her fingers. "I love you too," she said. She meant it with all her heart.
