Normally I hate Tonks but I think that almost anyone is good when paired with snape.

Tonks walked through the halls of Grimmauld place, unusually quiet and graceful. The war was over. They'd one and the Deatheaters were scattering. No more fighting, no more hurting… So what was left? What was that thing pulling at the back of her head?

She sank back into the walls, sliding down until she sat with her knees up against her chest. She watched as her tears melted into her leggings. There were too many emotions. To many people were gone and she had left the school before the numbers had been totaled.

"Tonks, what happened? After I left, what happened?" She looked at anything but the dark man in front of her.

"Why'd you leave? We all knew you were on our side. Why the hell did you have to go and leave us there, you bastard?" She choked on her sobs as she jumped up screaming at him.

"I-I had to!"

"No you didn't! You could have fought with us, Severus! Did you even care if we survived? We could of all died…died…" She cried out louder and beat against Severus's chest, until she collapsed against him.

"Did we win?"

"Of course we won."

"And you're alive."

"What does that matter to you? You left me there to die!" She pushed away from him, her hair turning an angry, flaming red.

"I told Lupin and Black to keep you safe. I knew that they would protect you!" He gripped her arms to keep her standing still. "I never wanted to hurt you again."

"You knew how I felt about you! What we did… God, and you still think I'll forgive you?" She tried to shake off his hands, but he had always been stronger than her.

"I don't need you to forgive me for leaving you, then or now. But there has to be some part of you that knows that I have feelings for you."

"So say it you spineless, son of a-"

"I love you." He pulled her closer and pressed his lips to hers.
