"What is the most important aspect of your life that Boris Balkov has hurt?"

All eyes turned to Kai, sitting calmly upon the witness's stand. He had prepared an answer in his mind a long time ago, when this question was first asked by the attourney currently questioning him. Sighing, the boy took his carefully constructed answer and skillfully threw it into a mental trashcan. He was going to do this right.

"Kai? Answer the--"

"My brothers."

Boris Balkov's attourney jumped up at the opportunity to object. It had only happened once or twice before. "Objection! That's a lie! Mr. Hiwatari does not have any brothers!"

There was no time for the judge or the BBA's lawyer to respond, for Kai beat them to it.

"I have five. Tyson, Ray, Max, Kenny, and Daichi."

From the first row of the courtroom, the Blitzkrieg boys glanced at each other, wearing expressions of no emotions though their eyes were wide with shock. Tala knew at that point Kai was in over his head. He also knew that Kai chose to be as such, and for the first time, he had chosen his own path. With that single answer, Kai had overcome everything the Abbey had ever tried to press upon him, and undermined Boris Balkov with two words.

My brothers.

A mental sigh and a bit of remorse washed over the red-headed Russian. The champion upon the stand had made his choice.

Kai Hiwatari was a Blitzkrieg Boy no longer.

Notes: I think this is the first real drabble-ish thing that I'm proud of. The idea worked its way into my head about two hours ago when I woke up this morning, and after four different ways of trying to write it, I came up with this short, sweet, and more powerful version with almost an eigth of the words. I'm sure you understand that this is Boris's trial, and that Kai is testifying against him, but I thought that this tactic could possibly prove effective.

I had the idea to post another quick drabble about the BladeBreakers' side of this situation. Let me know if you think it's a good idea.
