(District Courtroom. Defendant Lobby no. 3. October 10th, 20XX. 9:45 A.M.)
Phoenix Wright entered the courtroom lobby. It's been a while since the last time he had a case, but he felt that his defendant was innocent of the charges he received. He first met his client about two days ago, at the request of his assistant Maya. Maya is usually a good judge of character, so he felt compelled to hear the man out.
"Ah, Phoenix! Thanks for coming." His client said.
"Of course! I wouldn't let you down! (I also wouldn't turn down a paycheck." Phoenix laughed and put a hand behind his head. "How are you feeling today, Walter White?"
Walter smiled, "I am nervous and about to collapse at any minute because of the stress."
Phoenix began to reminisce about the case, even though Walter was needing comfort right in front of him. About three days ago, Walter and his companion got arrested from by Detective Dick Gumshoe and the police force. "Another win for the Blue Badger," Gumshoe said when he got to the station. Apparently, Walter and his companion were caught making meth in a small lab in a rich suburban neighborhood. A man by the name of Derek made the call to the police. However, even though there was no meth being made at the location Walter and his friend were at, there was a lot of lab equipment. After hearing all the details of the case, Phoenix believed his client is innocent. However, there has been no word from Walter's friend.
"Phoenix... Phoenix..." Walter said, trying to snap him back to reality.
"Huh? Oh sorry!" He checked the time. "It's about time to go in."
"Phoenix~!" A young girl in spirit medium clothes sang.
"Ah Maya! Where's Pearls? I thought she would be here."
"Pearly decided to stay at the office to watch some Silver Samurai re-runs."
Phoenix smiled and was glad that Pearls decided to have some resemblance of a normal childhood today. "Let's head in, Maya."
Walter sat in the hot seat. Phoenix and Maya got to their stand, and both felt a little anxious that Godot was already there. They both assumed that Godot was staring at them with a smug look in his eyes, even though the glowing red visor made it hard to tell.
"Once again, we battle in the courtroom, Phoenix Trite!"
Phoenix grumbled, "Yeah ok, Godot."
The Judge hit his gavel three times. "Alrighty, lets get this started. Prosecutor Godot, do you have any opening statements?"
"The man is guilty." Godot replied.
"Hmm..." the Judge said, "I'm about ready to make my ruling on the case."
"WE HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED YET!" Maya yelled.
"Oh, well ok. We'll hear him out, just don't waste my time too much." The Judge said.
Phoenix sighed. This was going to be a difficult case.
