Criticism
It's a fun thing isn't it, criticism? But you have to learn to live with it because it's something you're going to get your whole life. You have to deal with it. Even though it knocks you down, even though it hurts, you have to live with it. It's just words. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure the words are someone's opinion of you. But it's their opinion. Everyone is entitled to one. Who are you to say they can't have one? You can't make everyone happy, least of all yourself.
You're not pretty enough.
You're not smart enough.
You're not doing it right.
You can't do anything right.
It hurts you just a little more every time. It chips away at you a little more every time. It breaks you a little more every time till you are nothing but a shell of yourself. But you have to live with it. Everyone else does. Why are you any different? You're not the first and you're definitely not the last.
You feel so pathetic. Just because it gets to you. You know you shouldn't let it get to you because its one criticism in a sea of compliments. And maybe it multiplies while the compliments stay the same number. But you still have those compliments. Those compliments balance the criticism out. Don't ever take those compliments for granted. If you do they'll thin out and when you're in a bad place those compliments may be all you have.
Stop feeling so fucking sorry for yourself. There's no point in it. It's just criticism. It's there to make yourself better. It's there so you push yourself just that little bit more. Criticism gives you that little edge you need to make yourself great. Be thankful for the criticism.
Take everything you can as a compliment. It's a compliment that people even bother to criticise. It's a compliment that they take time out of their day to think you're worthy of criticism.
So it might hurt, but it's there. There's nothing you can do about it.
AN: So yeah, first time in a while I've written something about how I feel. This is for Lily and Kim because it was their birthdays. R&R.
