The world is defined by those who fight for power and seize it. The new world of New Eden was meant to change the old ways of humanity. The war and politics of the human race was meant to stop but the new world enhanced it. Made it stronger. Made it the only way.
The colonists arrived on great ships from the far reaches of the star system to establish a new colony, a new world, for the advancement of the species. What soon happened was infighting and breakdown of the political discourse.
The largest city, and self-appointed centre of New Eden, is ruled over by a political head. The leader gained the power of the city by his speeches and other political means. The old guard, the old leaders fell to his new ways. The young blood out-lived the old. Soon he had control over the city and its civilians. Their cheers envelop the city with noise. In one swift movement, Sterling throws up his arms and shouts:
"Praise god, for me!" The crowd explodes into a manic frenzy. Dropping his arms slowly and standing firm, he waits for the crowed to quieten. As the echoes of the crowd fade away off the tall city buildings, Sterling delivers his speech.

The crowds hang on his every word, basking in his grandeur. But, not all those watching bask in his self appointed magnificence. Hovering high in orbit above New Eden, watching Sterling's speech broadcast on a large television is another player. A solder that fought his way into power. A general commander that fought in the planarity defence of New Eden. As new Eden was being born, other planarity leaders saw it not as a new civilization but as a threat. Before the 'Great Divide' there was union. A union that defended the world and its people before falling into anarchy and segregation. Rising up through the ranks, General Commander Vargas
