Just a very small one-shot about Severus the father and Harry discovering that Severus is capable of being something more than a Dungeon Bat.
The small hand was so warm, and Harry couldn't help but smile at the little girl walking beside him. He had found her wandering around the Astronomy Tower, in tears, because she was apparently lost.
Harry had not seen her before and had asked her who her parents were and all she could tell him was Daddy. Daddy was her daddy. Harry had smiled at the endearing innocence and had decided to take the lost three year old to the hospital wing, for just in case the little girl had any injuries.
"What's your name?" Harry smiled down at her; she looked up at him with tears in her big soft blue eyes.
"Beth." The girl almost sobbed.
"My name's Harry. It's going to be alright. I'm gunna find your daddy." He said as they approached the hospital wing, he hoped that Madam Pomfrey would have some idea about who the beautiful little girl belonged to.
Harry pushed open the door to the empty room, lined with beds. He led the girl to the end of the room and knocked on the medi-witch's office door.
Harry had to wait for a few seconds before he was called in with a distracted, "Yes?"
Harry pushed the door open and was surprised to see Snape sitting on a chair facing Pomfrey but with his back to Potter. The man half turned his head and just rolled his eyes at Potter.
"Well, of course, Potter always nearby to disturb." The man drawled.
Pomfrey scowled at him and gave Harry a harassed smile.
"What can I do for you, Mr. Potter?"
Harry opened the door a little wider. "Well, I found this girl wandering around the Astronomy tower crying and asking for her father, but she couldn't tell me who he was. I thought you might be able to recognise her. She says her name's Beth." Beth came into view and Pomfrey choked.
Beth looked around the interior of the room and as soon as her eyes alighted upon Snape she screamed, "Daddy!" And promptly broke down in a fresh set of tears as she tore past Harry and launched herself into Snape's arms.
What was even more surprising to Harry was that Snape had stood up and had his arms open and ready for the little girl; scooping her up and pressing her tightly to his chest he placed kisses on the top of her head. "Shhhh." He soothed and ran his fingers through her thick golden brown hair. "Calm down baby, Daddy's here. Shhh."
Harry felt like fainting. Snape the Git had just completely transformed in front of his eyes into something that Harry could not recognise and could not reconcile with his preconceived image of Severus Snape.
Harry fainted.
I don't plan on writing anymore to this, I mean I have like no idea where I'd take this if I did so if you want more, review but also maybe suggest where I could take the story...If anyone is actually interested that is.
If there are over twenty reviews I'll write more but otherwise I hope you liked this, it just sort of popped into my head while I was meant to be doing my assignment...:D
