Jersey Talk

"Oh com'mon Captain, every guy who's ever played a sport and gotten a jersey thinks about it," Koganei said slyly. Hyuuga's gaze leveled to a glare but he said nothing. No matter how he responded his friend and fellow Seirin team mate would find a way to twist it around into some sort of evidence. Kiyoshi joined them in the locker room conversation just then, only annoying the Seirin basketball caption further. Now he really couldn't say anything. Kiyoshi had a weird and infuriating habit of seeing straight through him.

"Thinks about what?" he asked with what the Seirin captain could only see as faked innocence. Hyuuga added a scowl to his glare. That idiot knows exactly what we were talking about; he's been here the whole time! But he knew Kiyoshi. Once he got a hold of an idea it was hard to get him to let it go. It was one of the center's best and worst qualities, though outside of basket ball it mostly just served as a means to bug the crap out of Hyuuga.

"The girl you like wearing your jersey. Preferably with nothing else on," Koganei explained easily. Kiyoshi raised his eyebrows a bit in mild surprise, but his smile never wavered. "Captain's playing dumb and denying any interest in the idea," Koganei finished, adding a completely unnecessary smirk on top of his suggestive tone. Hyuuga opened his mouth, finally settling on a fitting protest that would kill the topic completely but Kiyoshi piped in first.

"We'll that's just silly. Of course he's thought about it. It's not like he doesn't have his eye on someone." Hyuuga spluttered and attempted to retort but the tall idiot didn't stop there. "After all, confessing naked if we lost was his idea." Hyuuga immediately clammed up and hung his head in defeat. There was just no arguing with these two morons when they got stuck on something. At last a decent rebuttal came to him and he quickly spat it out before he said or did something stupid that the two idiots would misinterpret.

"You guys should shut up before coach here's you talking like that, you know how she gets about that kind of stuff," he said, shutting his locker huffily. A female voice joined in from the doorway.

"They know how I get about what exactly?" Riko asked pointedly, her gaze leveling on the team's captain. All three of the boys tensed for a second before trying to brush the conversation aside with guilty looks.

"Nothing Coach," Koganei said with a nervous laugh that absolutely no one bought.

"Just boy stuff Riko," Kiyoshi said, managing to keep his voice even despite the intensity of the girl's glare. She frowned ever so slightly, unsure if that was damning enough to reprimand them with extra training. She stared pointedly at Junpei, hoping he'd give something away but he simply shut his locker and shrugged on his bag.

"You've punished us enough for one day. Let them off with a warning this time," he said casually as he moved to give her the standard after practice shoulder pat. Then right before his hand reached her he froze as if pondering something.

All of a sudden Junpei's face broke out into a vivid flush as the previous conversation's topic sunk in. He quickly pushed past Riko and marched off, leaving the girl baffled at his behavior. Not one to be shrugged off so easily, she ran after Hyuuga intent on getting an answer out of him.

As soon as the two of them were out of sight, Kiyoshi and Koganei exchanged knowing smirks. "I told him. Every guy thinks about it. Even guys as thick as our Captain."

"He is never going to hear the end of this," Kiyoshi said with a smile.
