Forbidden Fruit-Athena

All Athena wanted was for him to leave. To die. To forgive her. To show her respect. To apologize for what he did to her. To keep his son from her daughter. All she ever wanted was for him to disappear from existence. But it will take a long time for him to do that. He stole her virgin priestess from her. He tried to take her city from her. No, it will never happen, Poseidon was selfish like that. Even when he is selfless to the sea he becomes selfish of all the power he has. He demands respect. He wants her to die. He wants her to keep her daughter away form his son. He wants her to forgive him. It wasn't going to happen until he did the same for her; he wanted her to do it first. No it wasn't going to happen. Never. Not in my Life time. When she saw the look of horror on her favored daughter's face when the sea spawn was offered immortality she was slightly angered by her reaction. Like a great wisdom goddess she hides her emotions. Plain steady face staring at her daughter's face. She offered her reason on why she wanted him immortal. It wasn't the only one. She wanted him separated from her daughter. Only until now she realized how selfish it was. Holding grudges were never wise. Did that make her unwise? Yes. Her grudge over Poseidon is not over, it will never be over. Selfless, was the only word that came to mind when the sea spawn rejected the immortal gift. Instead he asks for another gift, a different one, the one who started the war in the first place. He asks for every undetermined child to be claimed by the age of thirteen. Wise and dumb. Wise for making a better choice and stopping another war with Kronos. Dumb because the gods were known to forget their promises. No matter what happened it ended the same. A god forgets their promise. Many others forget soon as well. Then every god or goddess forgets. Something inside of her says the promise will last longer than any other. She stared at her scared hands. She can make the scars go away, but as a war goddess she kept to remember that she was Poseidon's enemy, his fatal point in his speeches, his unwanted space. She had a sudden urge to head the sea spawn off. To warn him. To tell him that he should be careful.

All Athena wanted was for him to die. But that wasn't going to happen. It was her forbidden fruit.
