So this is kind of based on the song Forever and Always by Parachute, at least, I was listening to that when I thought of this, so….
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, just my feels.
Annabeth sat by the phone, worried out of her mind. Percy was supposed to be home an hour ago. Where was he? Millions of possibilities ran through her mind. Was there a monster attack? Did he get hurt?
When the phone began to ring, she grabbed it as quickly as she could. Her heart fell when she heard a voice telling her that there had been an accident and that she needed to get to the hospital as quickly as she could.
Tears were falling from her eyes as she drove to the place where the love of her life could be dying. Trying not to focus on these thoughts, her mind went back to only a few days ago when Percy had proposed.
He had walked inside their tiny apartment with a huge smile on his face and a hand behind his back. Annabeth had narrowed her eyes in suspicion and walked over to him, crossing her arms and asking what he had done.
That was the moment when he had gotten down onto one knee and pulled the small box out from behind his back. He had told her that he didn't care how young or old they were, how rich or poor, that all he wanted was to see her face next to his every time he woke up. With tears in her eyes, Annabeth had simply nodded, and as he put the ring on her finger, she had kissed him.
How she wished she could travel back to that day, instead of this one. This horrible day when she could lose the one person that she didn't think she could live without.
She slowly parked her car and walked into the white building. She went through the motions blindly, first pointed to the direction of Percy's room, then hitting the elevator button. She soon found herself choking on a sob in the back of her throat as she saw him turn his head and smile weakly when she opened the door. She rushed to his side, bending down to her knees and grabbing his hand with both of hers.
He reached his other hand to gently stroke her hair as she sobbed into their intertwined hands. He quietly told her that he loved her, and how sorry he was for all the pain he had caused her.
She looked up and searched his eyes before saying that he was the only one who hadn't caused her pain in this life. He flashed her one more smile before laying his head back onto his pillow and squeezing her hand one last time.
Annabeth squeezed back while muttering that she loved him more than he would ever know, and sat while the tears silently streamed down her face.
So, that was my first attempt at any type of sad writing. Sorry if it was kind of horrible. And yeah, I almost started bawling while writing this.
Anyways, thanks for reading and please leave a review telling me if it was really horrible or not.
