INTRODUCTION

I was only eight when my mother disappeared forever. She used to come home and lay in my bed for hours, and we would discuss everything. She always told me I was so bright for a little girl. She used to say that I would grow up and the world would become my kingdom, and I its Queen. I never had a brother or sister, and my daddy left before I was born. It had always just been me and my mommy, my mommy and I. It was just another day, and she was out for a full day of work. When she came home, she brought McDonalds, and that was a really big treat for us, for we didn't have very much money. I was ecstatic, seeing that McFlurry and Big Mac. We wolfed the whole meal down, laughing merrily. Looking back, I wish I could have shown how much I really loved her. But everything happens for a reason, and I wish I could figure out what the reason was for why I was left the next day, why she never came back, why life never provided even the slightest assurance of knowing I was alone, so that I would not have had to hope for all those years.

Hey everyone, I'm back! I'm older now, a little bit more mature. I don't write Avatar fanfics anymore, but I am trying to keep up writing. This story is based on a picture we were shown in 5th grade, titled THE GIRL I LEFT BEHIND ME by Eastman Johnson. I give copyrights to him, but this story is original. The title is a pun on the girl, my main character, that was left by her mother at 8 years old, and her self-journey the story develops through, about how she realized her mother was not ever coming back, and getting over it and maturing, leaving that little girl behind her. I would really appreciate it if you would comment me, for it'll help motivate me to keep writing! Please do, and I promise I'll write more soon, and it'll be MUCH longer, also. :D Thanks,

Arianna
