A/N: Half of this has been hanging around on my phone's memo pad for about a year and I thought it was finally time to type it up. It's set sometime around late S1 or early S2. It's REALLY short but, let's be honest, none of my stuff is of any real length. I'm not entirely sure if it works so please feel free to yell at me and tell me if you thought it sucked. Thanks for reading, Marie x
Geometry
Kate Beckett is straight lines; direct, to the point, with an unwavering focus. She can intersect, criss cross, run parallel yet by her very nature cannot look back. The very force
that keeps her driving forwards stops her ever returning to the past. Perhaps this is why when Kate does look back, when she dwells on the past and its horrors; it
threatens to swallow her whole.
Richard Castle is curves; vast, sweeping shapes drawn more for beauty than for purpose. Unlike the straight lines he can look back. His fluidity allowing him to move
backwards yet this means he cannot always move forwards. He journey can be halting, indirect. Maybe this is why he can hover on the fringes; waiting patiently for her
signal to dive in.
Together they are complete; weaving intricately together to create a beauty like no other. Apart they are flawed. Together they are unstoppable. Infinite.
