"NO!" the girl yelled and dodged the chainsaw which was wielded by a very crazy man that nearly chopped her in half.
"Why?! Why did you kill my parents?" she yelled with tears in her eyes.
The chainsaw was nearing her again but her foot was stuck and she couldn't move. Sweat started dripping down her face as she saw her life flashing by but at the last second when she looked at the killer's face she reacted with her instincts and clapped her hands together making a huge boulder appear out of no where and hit the killer dead on.
Her foot got loose and she continued running in the forest but to no avail because she already could hear him coming closer "Come on magic! Work!" she screamed at her hand trying to get boulders to start flying again.
She finally neared an old cottage in the middle of the forest. She gasped as she took in the sight, for some reason it seemed familiar to her. She quickly ran inside and locked the door behind her but that didn't stop the man from entering for he used the chainsaw to break through the door.
She stood in fright having no where left to run to as she saw him getting inside. She looked around trying to find an exit but found none. Than her eyes finally rested on the floor and saw that the entire floor was covered with circles and signs done by chalk.
They looked familiar, she wondered where she saw them before. The killer got inside and she closed her eyes bracing for death but than her eyes quickly opened in recognition.
'They're transmutation circles!' she thought silently thanking her anime-obsessed best friend for constantly nagging her about her favorite anime, the fullmetal alchemist.
After all the years she dissed animes saying they were stupid now with her life on the line she silently prayed all her friend's fantasies were real. She got down on her knees and as the chainsaw was about to slice her in half she clapped her hands to the transmutation circle and the chainsaw hit air, for she was long gone.
She lay bloody and battered on the streets' harsh pavement. An old man sitting in a carriage filled with vegetables spotted her immediately even though he could barely see in the dark that late at night.
He quickly ran over to her and checked for a pulse and was glad when he found one seeing how much blood she lost he didn't think he would.
He gently picked her up and moved her onto his carriage but she was moving having just woken up "Calm down young one. I'm taking you to my village where you can get your wounds treated"
She squirmed a bit when she was placed in the carriage but she slowly turned and rested on her side where she found least painful. She smiled up at him or at least the best she could in her condition and gave a sincere "thank you"
"You're welcome. I'm Macao and as you may have guessed I own a vegetable store. I just went out of town to get a new batch" he gave her a soft smile "Now what's your name, child?"
"Hope" she smiled back "What's your village called?"
"Rushvalley"
'I hate animes' she thought grimly but than she smiled 'And I love them for that's why I live today'
