Amber knew there was another reason why she kept coming back night after
night. It wasn't just for the zydrate; it was the look that Graverobber
always got in his eyes when she came around, that little spark that said just maybe
they both felt something for each other.

He never looked at her the way he looked at all of the other women he zapped: he smiled
when their eyes glazed over and they stumbled away, but amber knew
that when she would come around his eyes would light up and he would put on a
different smile; there would be a different bounce in his step as he swaggered towards

her.

They both knew their little game that they played, each never wanting to give
into the other. She would come looking down the alley and he would just be
there waiting, as patiently as he possibly could. She would walk up to him and
push him against the wall that was the nature of their relationship, if you could
even call it that. Give and take, push and pull. Back and forth every night
they'd play and it never seemed to stop. Amber never thought it would and
part of her wished it wouldn't.
