Stability

The sun was sweltering as a heatwave hit the small suburb, days like this would normally have Alvin would be lounging about in his underwear with a comic book in one hand and a soda in the other. But he had somewhere to be, somebody to see.

Unfortunately for Alvin, this was an encounter that the boy wanted to keep secret. It wasn't abnormal for boy to tell little white lies to his family, it was a small skill he'd perfected over time. He explained that he was going to the arcade, that he was meeting up with his "Soccer friends" and that he'd be back by six

The truth isn't much too far off, he is going to the arcade but with a small detour first.

Alvin made a concerted effort to get his family to let him walk there, not wanting his family to learn his secret.

Alvin made his trek out in the sweltering heat, heading in the direction of a small coffee shop a few blocks way. He walked along the footpath, but he couldn't shake the feeling that somebody was following him.

Alvin was being followed, a fact he was blatantly aware of. He hadn't taken him long to figure out who his pursuer is, having used his finely-honed athletic skill to temporarily ambush the pursuer. His plan worked perfectly, making Simon corner himself in a bush

"Come out Simon, I know you're following me" He said, shoving my hands into my red jacket

Simon emerged from the bushes, pulling twigs from his fur and jumper. He narrowed his eyes at his older brother as he cleaned his glasses with the bottom of his jumper

"Why were you following me Simon?" he asked, patiently waiting for a response

"I was told to watch you, to make sure you don't get into trouble" he said with a deep sigh

"Of course, Dave still doesn't trust me" he said with a chuckle, kind of saddened by his father's mistrust in him "Why don't ya join me Si"

He looked at Alvin stunned, then with a cautious look. The older chipmunk couldn't help but chuckle, putting my arm around him

"I promise that I'll explain everything, trust me" He narrowed his eyes at the older boy's choice of words but went with it anyway

they arrived at a small coffee shop, a small family run business trying to emulate the bigger coffee chains like Starbucks. The style was fairly down to earth, a simple glass door and metallic window panes, dividing them from the outside world.

Alvin opened the door, greeted with the smell of fresh coffee and muffins. He moved through the small coffee shop with his brother in tow, stopping when he sports a familiar brunette male. He smiles, looking over at his brother. He presses his finger to his lip, signalling for Simon to follow.

He crept up on the unsuspecting male, covering the boy's eyes with a giggle. The boy's response was to let out a soft startled yelp, spinning around to face Alvin

"They there Twitchy" Alvin said, sitting beside the boy

"Y…You A…Asshole! W…Why do you do that?" The brunette male asked, looking to Simon with a look of confusion "W…Who's this Al?"

"This is Simon, my brother. Simon, this is my boyfriend, Twitch" Alvin said, introducing the two males to each other

Simon stood there in shock for a moment, eyeing the twitchy male that Alvin had claimed to be his boyfriend. The brunette had turned red, trying to hide himself in embarrassment. Simon let out a small chuckle, figuring he'd been tricked by one of his brother pranks

"Very funny joke Alvin" Simon said, looking mildly amused

"It's not a joke Simon, we've been dating nearly three months now" He countered, stunning Simon back into silence "He's the reason I haven't been dating a ton of girls lately"

Simon stood there with his mouth gaping

"Close your mouth, you're letting flies in" Alvin said

Simon shut his mouth, glancing over to Twitch with still a surprised look. He couldn't help but chuckle at his brother's boyfriend, who was twitching still nervously

"Hey how about I get you so coffee" Alvin said as he stroked Twitch's back gently, chuckling at the nervous boy's attempted glare

Alvin noticed Simon smiles sweetly, probably watching the interaction between them

"Stay here while I get you coffee, Simon do you want anything" he ask, looking to Simon who nodded

He wandered over to the barista, He'd frequented the coffee shop enough to have a good rapport with him

"Hey Jamie, three of the usual" He said, pulling out my wallet

"Who's the guy hanging with Twitch" he asked as he made our coffee

"That's my brother" Alvin responded, glancing over at the table where his brother and boyfriend sat

"Ooh meeting the family, things must be getting serious" He said as he nudged Alvin, handing him the coffees

The red clad chipmunk paid him and wandered over to Twitch and Simon, catching Simon's question

"How did you meet Alvin?" he asked, making Alvin chuckled

"He stole my coffee" He interrupted, placing the hot beverage in front of his nervous boyfriend and handed Simon his

"It was an accident, I thought it was mine" he muttered, seeming to stop twitching upon taking a sip

"Well I will say that it was pretty much love at first sight" Alvin replied, kissing him lovingly on the forehead

"Hey Twitch, how would you like to come to our place for dinner" Simon asks

"R...R... Really" he asked with a nervous twitch, nearly spilling his coffee

"Yeah, I'd love for you to meet my family" Alvin got a shy smile from him which he took as a yes

They sat there talking, Simon seemed to a strong liking to Twitch.

Hey guys, Tamashi here. A name you probably haven't seen around in a while. I' doing a rewrite of this story, as I didn't like how the original version hope you liked it. I hope to make this one a bit longer, turning it from a one-shot into a two-shot.

I probably could have kept it the same to represent how my skill has improved since I started but I felt that I could do better. Why not put my skills to good use. If you guys have any suggestions, comments, criticism, idea or such. Leave them in a review and I will answer them in the next chapter

For now I will leave it there, I hope you enjoyed it. Ciao for now
