This is in Elizabeth's POV:

The winds blows fierce. I see all the men around me working hard to steady the sails, trying to make our way to Tortuga. I wish I could help them, but Will thinks I am too weakened after our last raid, so I sit here on the steps, watching. Captain Barbossa is at the wheel, twisting and turning it with white knuckles. Captain Jack is stalking around telling everyone what they are doing wrong.

"Hey, Jack!" I yell, in Will's defence. I set my jaw. "Maybe you should tell them what to do, instead of confusing them more. It'll help if they actually KNOW how to do it."

He turns to me with an eyebrow raised. Slowly, he makes his way over to me.

"I must be a terrible Captain, eh?" He says to me, his voice crawling with sarcasm. He leans in, so our faces are inches apart and I can smell his foul breath. "Why aren't you Captain then?" Finally, I can breathe again when he steps away from me. "Let me do my duties and I will let you stay on my ship, savvy?"

I scowl at him, and he glides away. Will stops working at the ropes and sits by my side.

"How are you, Elizabeth?" He looks at me, his eyes shining. I put my head on his shoulder and my hand entwined with his.

"Is this what you want? Being a pirate, I mean." I squeeze his hand gently and he into the distance, at the endless ocean.

"Not forever. I hope for us one day to be married, have kids, grow old together." He squeezes my hand back and looks at me once more. "But for now, I am happy wherever you are. And you still haven't answered my question."

I smile at him and laugh. "I'm good, Will. Thank you for asking."

We sit there for a few minutes, our hands tangled together, our heads pressed against each other until the wind starts blowing harder. Will jumps up quickly and kisses my cheek.

"Someday, my dear!" He runs back to the ropes and I smile. Someday I think.
