Across the Sea

Day and night I hear its voice,
The voice of the Sea that calls my name.
Before my eyes is set a choice,
And so to this shore I came.

I gaze upon the turquoise sea
Across which Valinor lies,
And where you sit and wait for me,
And where nothing ever dies.

Alone and grieving I walk this shore,
My heart is torn in two,
To sail from here and be with you,
Yet see this land no more.

Or walk these lands I so hold dear,
But fade from memory,
A little more each more each passing year.
To linger here or cross the Sea?
