Old Friend

You've drifted to the other side.

You fell down this time, now you're changing.

Don't go again and hide.

Darkness conceals a brilliant start,

But I can see, I can still recognize you.

Wrapped around your heart,

an encompassing abyss.

Am I the only one who sees?

And what about happiness,

Isn't it worth seeking?

/

You only need grab hold,

there are hands willing to reach you.

Don't let the light you have left grow cold.

You need it to lead you,

and guide you back to the calm.

This form of wrath,

will only bring you harm.

/

Don't I know what it's like?

You and I know the deepest hurt.

You've severed ties,

But I still see them, flying in the storm.

Our distant childhood dies,

But you know me, I've never been one to conform.

Even now I still hear my cries,

back when you thought I was worth saving.

Now, aren't you?

Your advice I'm still affirming,

My dream will always remain true.

/

There are tears that never fall, a heart that never cracks,

even with the utmost pain.

What gain is there from vengeful attacks.

Isn't it time your grief was put to rest?

Push through; the Black is not as strong

as the life waiting past the hate.

There is something better beyond these wrongs,

A powerful force exists past your fallen state.

A destiny in the offing, a life not yet fulfilled.

A new beginning is needed,

and restoring what was lost is a worthy fate.
