"Are your all right? I'm really sorry."
"Sorry. I guess I'm okay. It only hurts when I laugh and I'm not going to do that anytime soon. Thanks to you."
"I said I was sorry. How was I to know the difference between a mound of dirt and it? It's dark in case you hadn't noticed."
"Dark? There's a full moon and no clouds. I thought you could tell the difference in the dark."
"I'm sorry but you must admit there isn't much cover here."
He glared. "Cover. I thought you at least could tell the difference."
"Like I said one mound looks the same as another in the dark."
"Well I guess. It didn't hurt much when you shot it. I guess it feel asleep during the stakeout."
"Maybe if you exercised it more. I might have been able to tell the difference."
"Exercise? The only exercise I get is going up and down those stairs and chasing after cases."
"I'm really sorry."
"Yeah, so you said. You know you're not going to live it down."
"Me, what do I … yeah I guess we're both going to have to live it down."
Sirens echoed in the distance.
"Yeah, we both have to live it down. You realize we're going to hear about this for years. Thanks to your careful shooting."
"Enough all ready. Remember we have to keep our stories straight. It was an accident. You know it was."
"All right. But you owe me big time after I get out of the hospital."
"You got a deal. Cool it. Here they come."
