Author's Note: My friend and I made a scrapbook for a friend of ours for Christmas. In it we had twenty one shots of twenty different slash pairings that we wrote over one weekend. Yup. Ten stories each in one weekend. That was fun. Anywho, after giving her the present, we decided to put our stories up on . So, here is one of them. To read the stories my friend wrote, visit her page at steelagainstivory.

Each story we did had a different theme. This one we called 'baby fic'. So, enjoy and review it if you so wish. I love reviews! Unless you are a flamer, in which case, get a life that does not corrolate with mine.

And, if it isn't obvious, I do not own the characters. Only the situations I put them in.

Beach Play

"Riku! Get up, get up, get up!" a seven-year-old Sora yelled while jumping on Riku's bed. "Come on sleepy-head, get up."

All Riku could manage was a small groan as he burrowed deeper into his covers. Undeterred, Sora continued to jostle his bed. "Wake up!" he chanted.

"Why should I?" Riku asked as he pulled his blanket down to his chin in order to glare at his chubby-faced counterpart.

Sora stopped jumping. "Because you said we were going to the beach today. Duh." He smiled as he once again continued bouncing. "Come on, get up!"

Riku finally got out of bed. After all, he had said that he would take the younger boy to the beach today. It had absolutely nothing to do with those big blue eyes looking at him full of hope.

A short time later, the two finally arrived at the beach.

"I got here first! I win," Riku gloated.

"It's not fair. You always win, Riku," Sora complained as tried to catch his breath.

"Of course. Because I'm faster," the fair-haired one replied.

"One of these days, I will beat you!" the brunet shouted as he pointed a finger at his friend.

"Whatever. Let's go play," Riku replied as he ran towards the lapping waves.

"Hey, wait for me," Sora called as he ran after his companion.

The two spent all morning playing at the beach, building sand castles, having swimming contests, and chasing the tide up and down the shore.

"Riku, I'm hungry," Sora whined as he placed his tiny hand over his growling tummy. Neither boy thought to bring any food.

"I know!" Riku exclaimed. "There is a tree over here that has fruit we can eat. I've never had it before, but I bet it tasted good."

"Okay, but be careful," Sora said as he watched Riku begin to climb the tree.

After a few close calls, Riku finally climbed down the tree, fruit in hand.

"How funny," Sora commented. "It looks like a star."

"Sorry, but I could only reach one. We'll have to share," Riku added.

The two young boys shared the fruit on that warm summer day, neither one knowing what waited for them in the coming years.
