Title: Clarity

Disclaimer: in my opinion fanfiction is a huge compliment to the creators of a show and should be viewed as such.
Author's Note: this dark little drabble popped up in my head when I saw the promo for the next episode. As always I tend to deviate from the path that's laid out, so no spoilers here. I hope you guys like it. I might do a follow up, but it all depends on what you think.
Andy never felt so alive as she did when she was in danger. Everything seemed to unfold unnaturally slow, crystal clear in it's chaos. That was the beautiful, yet terrible thing of crime. She hated it, but loved it at the same time. It was probably that-her hunger for excitement, that got their cover blown, literally.
She remembered the weightless sensation of being swept off her feet by the explosion and how, just a few moments before hitting the ground, she relished in the fear, the uncertainty of life.
"Andy!" his voice came from far away, as if it had been an angel calling her. She spotted him in the distance, her vision swimming in red. She tried to get up, but felt drunk, strange.
"Oh god, Andy…"
It was the way he said her name that made her knees buckle rather than the extent of her injuries. At least, that was how it felt to her. Either way, Sam caught her before she made a nosedive to the pavement, scooping her up in his arms without ceremony.
"What the hell did I tell you about entering that building alone?" He said, regret lacing his voice.
"I'm sorry," Andy mumbled, trying to ignore the steel arms that carried her and the firm chest against which she was held.
"Where are you hurt?" He asked quickly, terrified with urgency.
She rested her head against his shoulder, trying to drown out the pain.
"Head…ribs…left leg."
"You're going to be okay, Andy." The fear in his voice cleared her mind somewhat.
"I know," she finally replied, allowing herself to rest bonelessly in his arms, her nose brushing against his collarbone. "You're here." And that was all that mattered.
Please let me know what you thought! I've never written anything so short!
