It was a day just like any other. The smell of morning dew on the leaves; accompanied by the trickling of the river. Mist rose from its surface every now and then, obscuring the other side from view. Even the creeps were staying inside for the day.

As much as she admired the sight, she had an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Normally the Northern outpost would have sent their weekly report by now. As it was under Kunkka's control, she would have expected it to be punctual. Unless…

She looked behind her to find only Rylai sleeping soundly. In fact, besides the two of them there was no one else in the barracks.

She went out to the mess hall. Even Ymir, who would normally challenge Brewmaster to a chugging contest, was missing. At the training grounds, she only found a few rusted scraps of broken armour and a half empty bottle.

Suddenly, she felt someone poke her back.

"WHAT IN THE NAME OF…!"

She had left her goddamn weapon in the barracks! She promptly turned around and drove her foot into the man's family jewels. She looked at the man's face as he was falling just in time to see Kunkka's pained expression behind his birthday mask.

The shadows parted to reveal Io, Axe and Rubick. Io quickly healed Kunkka while Axe laughed and Rubick shook his head solemnly.

The five of them walked (limped) back to the mess hall, where there was a cake waiting. Everyone was there, patiently seated. She sat down and smiled. Maybe it wasn't such a bad day afterall.

There was some sand on the floor, she frowned. Oh well. She could ask maybe Earthshaker later…

Unbeknownst to the happy crowd, the Sand King was spreading fine particles of sand into the air, mixed with his poison. He just needed to weaken them enough to finish them off.

Tresdin suddenly felt as though her cake didn't taste very good. Her head spun a bit.

"Crap, I feel sick."

And then the Sand King rose from the floor.

"BEHOLD THE DIRE'S ENDGAME!"

He slammed his tail once. Twice.

"DIE FOOLS!"

Rubick pulled something from his robes.

"O' spirit of the orchid I summon thee!"

The Orchid Malevolence glowed brightly and effectively shut the Sandstormer up. Desperate, he lunged at their leader; Tresdin. She couldn't even defend herself, as the poison had made her woozy. The last thing she felt was a sharp pain in the neck before her soul was ripped out of her body. The Legion Commander was no more.
