The Yearly 365 Challenge

Prompt #313 (Quote) "When you reach the end of the your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."

I have decided not to include the quote in this short thing that I want to get out. I feel that I wrote in honor of the quote … and so filled the prompt.

FP stared into the closed eyes of his son lying in the hospital bed. His ears listening to the beeping of the heart montrol. His grief over whelming him as yet again he fully realized that his son was fighting for his very life all due to his decisions in life. Decisions that he made long before his son and daughter were even born. Decisions that could very well kill his son.

"He wouldn't want you to go there." Betty's soft voice spoke from where she was leaning against the wall next to the window. Her eyes looked upon her boyfriend's closed eyes, and over to his father's.

FP's eyes turn from his son's to lock on those of the young blonde. "You have no idea what you are talking about girl." He hissed out through caked and chapped lips.

"Don't I?" Betty didn't flinch from the heat from the older Jone's eyes. "My mother's decisions in her teen years can impact my life. They are impacting my life."

"Only because you forced your way into something that you have no idea of little girl." FP growled. His eyes turn back to his son. "All because I placed my son in a situation that he shouldn't have been in. All due to …." He couldn't go on.

"Even if you weren't involved; Juggie would have still made the decisions that he made." Betty spoke in the silence. "He always wants to know the truth … to expose the truth. If he had learned the truth about the Serpents … even if you were never involved with them …. then he would have still dug until he found the truth." She took a deep breath. "He was like that as a little boy."

FP's eyes turned to look into her's once more. "Same with you." He sighed. "You are good for him. Always have been." He nodded. Turning back to look at his son. He took his son's life less hand in his. "Jughead I love you. I know that I don't say it much … but I do truly love you. I hope you not only fight to return to us for Betty; and your close friends; but I hope that you fight to return to me also." He husked. "I need you son." He bowed his head.
