The sun faded into darkness as the night began to take hold. The tents had been pitched, and sleeping bags unrolled. A fire burned between the two tents, one for male and one for females. Around the fire the party sat. Sheena snuggled to Colette who was absentmindedly stroking her cheek. To the right of them was Genis who fidgeted beside Presea. To the left of them was Regal and Raine who was reading Lord Boltzman's book the party had found in the Tower of Mana.
Directly across from Sheena and Colette sat Kratos and Lloyd. Lloyd chatted with him openly, yet quietly with the older man.
"I hope dad is doing alright without me."
"I'm sure he is."
"Yeah...um...I was wondering, Kratos.."
"Yes?"
"Do you have any children?"
"..." Surprise hit the mans face.
"Kratos?"
"Uh...no."
"Oh. Don't you have people you miss?"
"Do you regret this?"
"What?"
"Coming on this Pilgrimage."
"...no, but I do miss home."
"...Hmph. So do I." He murmured, but the brunette boy didn't react as if he'd heard.
"Time for bed, I guess." The boy remarked aloud, standing and heading for the tent.
