I'm not really fond of the Polyjuice Potion.
Why, you ask?
Well, it's because of its taste. It has a really sludgy quality to it, as it slides down your throat. It burns your stomach, making you feel like you've disemboweled from the inside. It roils in your gut, like the steak and kidney pie you've just had for dinner and you're about to regurgitate it after seeing Ron's table manners.
Merlin, I'm making it sound like it's poison or something equally deadly.
Well, OK, it's not exactly why I dislike Polyjuice.
It's partly because that half the time we're (Ron, Harry and I) impersonating Slytherins with Polyjuice, and trust me, you wouldn't want to throw back something that contains Crabbe's toenails or that Parkinson cow's strands of dyed black hair down your throat.
Not that we've actually drunk Polyjuice with Crabbe's toenails or Pansy's hair inside it.
Oh, yeah. This seems to be a perfect time to mention the number one reason why I don't like Polyjuice Potion.
(You Muggles think Polyjuice is so brilliant, don't you? I mean, with Polyjuice, you can get revenge on that pompous git in class who corrects everyone's grammar and kisses up to the teacher by impersonating the marker who's marking the whole cohort's final papers and scrawling a huge C- on the git's History essay. You could achieve lots of things with Polyjuice, maybe with the exception of Harry's Cloak or a wand.)
I don't like Polyjuice because it made half my upper body, including my arms and hands turn into one of a cat.
A furry one, at that.
I know it was partly my fault, that I'd just picked the strand of hair on my robes after wrestling with Millicent Bulstrode and just assumed that it was hers.
Good thing Harry didn't laugh or anything, just escorted me to the hospital wing with the hood of my robes up. I saw Ron supressing a chortle, but that was OK. At least he didn't laugh in my face or anything, unlike Myrtle who came out of her U-bend and laughed like her life depended on it.
But she doesn't have one. A life, I mean.
Cow.
I know it sounds silly, but I'm still slightly traumatised.
And that is why I'm not really fond of Polyjuice Potion.
