Adam Ross came home after a long day at the crime lab. He was about to go into his apartment when he noticed that the door down the hall was open. Adam walked slowly and looked inside.

" Alicia. Alicia it's Adam Ross from down the hall. Your door is open."

Adam looked inside and saw Alicia lying on the floor.

" Alicia."

Adam went up to her and looked at her. Blood was coming from her head, but she looked at him and moaned.

" Hold on," Adam told her," I'm going to get help."

Adam got out his phone.

" This is Adam Ross I work at the New York Crime lab. I need an ambulance. I have a female who is injured, with a wound to the side of the head."

Adam spoke a few more seconds before hanging up.

" Help is on the way. You hang in there Alicia. Stay with me here."

" My sister. Will you call my sister? Debra is her name."

Help came faster then Adam expected. The EMT looked at Alicia and noticed the wound.

" Looks like a blow of some sort," the EMT said," We need to get her out of here."

As Alicia was being attended too, Mac came on the scene along with Danny.

" Adam," Mac said," We heard your call. Do you know what happened?"

" I came home saw that Alicia's door was open and looked inside. She was on the floor with a wound to the head. The only thing she said before passing out was asking me to call her sister Debra."

" Do you know who she is?" Mac asked.

" Alicia Manning. I only know her in passing. I don't know much about her. Alicia keeps to herself."

" I'll start processing," Danny said," This does look like our crime scene."

Adam sighed and leaned against the wall. Mac Taylor, head of the New York Crime lab also began to look around, but then stopped and looked at Adam.

" You okay?" Mac asked.

" I don't know what to think Mac. I have no idea who would want to hurt her. I need to figure out how to get a hold of this sister of hers."

Mac picked up a phone book which was on the counter.

" Try in here."

Adam took it and looked up Debra Manning's phone number.

" Here it is. I'll give her a call, but I don't know what to say."

" Tell her the truth Adam, that you found her sister and she's on her way to Mercy Hospital."

Adam just nodded his head and went into his own apartment to make the phone call. He went back to Alicia's apartment a few moments later.

" There's no answer. What do I do now?"

Mac stopped what he was doing.

" See if there's another number," Mac answered," Cell phone, work number."

Adam again nodded his head and walked away.

" Small blood pool," Danny said," Adam found this girl in time I think."

Danny Messer got up from where Alicia was and looked in the sink and found a glass.

" We got some prints on this glass."

" Bag it up. We'll test it at the lab."

It was several moments later when Mac and Danny finished the crime scene. Adam was standing outside his apartment and shook his head.

" I got no answer on her sister's cell phone either."

" Then we need to look up an address and go there in person," Mac said," Debra Manning needs to know what happened to her sister."

Adam handed the phone book back to Mac who looked up the address for Debra Manning.

" It's not to far from here. Danny, go back to the lab. I'm going to talk to Debra Manning. Adam, get some sleep and I'll see you in the morning."

" I'll try, but I want to know what happened to Alicia."

" We'll find out," Mac told him.
