This is a little project that I started on last minute. These will basically center around the Gaang venturing into the Fire Nation incognito, and all their zany adventures! Or, just an excuse to write Aang/Katara in the Fire Nation. I like to think of it as a combination of both! Overall, I know I'm going to have fun writing these, and I hope you guys will enjoy reading them, too!

Diary Entry: #4

We arrived in the Fire Nation three weeks or so after the fall of Ba Sing Se.

Gathered as much money as we could and were able to buy some disguises. For now, we're in a very small Fire Nation village that seemed to lack any type of resources. We've been doing everything we can for the people here, even giving some of our food supply. Sokka didn't even argue, he watched as we handed half of our meat supply to the weary villagers with a cool and calm expression. Of course, he probably cried a bit or two inside afterwards...

Aang, Toph, my brother and I...

We've been on this journey for a long time now and by now, we were practically prepared for anything and everything. Then we came here and witnessed just how cruel the Fire Nation could be. I heard from an old man earlier who was talking with Aang about how some Fire Nation batallion entered the village and demanded that they hand over their supplies. Some resisted, and ended up losing their lives. As a result, they took all of their food and water supply, everything, and then left the town with nothing.

"At first, we fought hard to bring our village back to stability. Others didn't even try and believed that eventually their Fire Lord would send help to assist them, but it never came. Then months went by, then years...they've all lost hope now."

When I heard him tell that to Aang, I felt a shiver down my spine. I was sure that at that very same time, Aang and I both had the same thought running through our heads:

What kind of leader would do that to their people?

"This is why we fight, Katara." he told me the other night.

He's always been determined, but the look on his face after he said that to me...

It was incredible. He's changed so much over the last couple of weeks that I'm starting to wonder if this Aang was the same Aang as before...

It scares me.
