I was eating ice cream, and I got some inspiration.
(Stevie)
Well, I'm at the ice cream parlor with my mom. I just got chocolate chip ice cream with rainbow sprinkles.
"Honey, can you sit down at one of the tables please? I'll be there in a moment. I'll get myself some ice cream." mom says while examining the variety of ice cream. I just say thanks to mom, and sit down at one of the tables. As I sit down, a boy with his father come in. The boy orders his ice cream and comes over to me while his dad tries to hit on the cashier.
"Hello. Can I sit here?" the boy asks me. Why did he sound so nervous?
"Sure. What did you get?" I ask him trying to start a conversation.
"Mint chip with gummy bears." he replies.
"Cool combination. So... Wassup?" I ask the boy.
"Well, my dad is hitting on the cashier over there, so... I'm kind of scarred for life." he says nonchalantly. We laugh and talk.
"So, I have a question to ask you." he says.
"Sure. Ask away." I say.
"Are girls always like that?" he asks me weirdly. What did he mean?
"What?" I say confused.
"I mean, well are all girls into sparkles and pink?" he says. I guess he was the curious type.
"Not all girls. Why?" I ask him. Why was he asking me this? I was wearing a flannel shirt with skinny jeans and converse. Just by looking at me, he had his answer.
"Well, most girls at my school are always well behaved and girly." he says. I lean in and tell him something.
"Well, I'm not most girls." I say, and lean back in my seat eating my ice cream.
"What do you mean?" he asks me confused. I decide to give him an answer.
"Haha. You look like a unicorn." I say laughing at the ice cream cone stuck to his forehead.
"Hey!" he says and smears some of his ice cream into my hair. Instead of being mad, I just laugh. He laughs along with me.
"What's your name?" he asks me.
"Stevie." I say.
"Cool. My name's Zander." he says offering me his hand. I shake it just before my mom comes over to us.
"Okay honey. We need to- AHHH! What happened to your hair?" she says before noticing Zander.
"Oh. You made a new friend. I see, and he's a unicorn! Too bad about that ice cream though." mom says laughing. Just as she's trying to stop laughing, Zander's dad comes in.
"Okay Zander, your- Oh... What happened to you? Did you try to flirt for the first time? Don't worry son. My first time was much worse. She slapped me, and-"
"I did not try to flirt with her dad, and seriously!? She slapped you?" Zander said to his father.
"Sorry. My dad was a ladies man when he was young, and he expects me to be the same." Zander explains to me.
"What do you mean when he was young? I'm in my 20s!" Zander's dad exclaims. Zander shoots his dad a look.
"Okay... Maybe my 30s, but I'm still hot." Zander's dad says.
"Come on Stevie! We have to go." mom says. Just as I'm going out the door with mom, Zander makes a sign with his hand that says "call me" and winks. How could I call him when I was too young to even have a cell phone?
"Hold on mom." I say as I go over to Zander and slap him. It was a more of a friendly slap than a I'm going to kill you slap. After that, I go back to mom and we leave the ice cream parlor.
(Zander)
"Ohh... You did flirt with her didn't you Zander?" dad says teasing me.
"It didn't even really hurt." I say. From the look of Stevie's eyes, she really didn't seem to mind what I did.
"Dude. You just got slapped." dad says acting like a maniac. Luckily, there's not that many people in the ice cream parlor.
"Let's just go." I say as we leave.
