Draco watched as Ron and Hermione had another fight, this one seemed to be the worst yet. Hermione ran from the Great Hall in tears. He frowned before walking up to Ron and punching the bloody git in the face. He watched Hermione act out of character for a week, before he couldn't take anymore.
He finally walked up to her during her fifth detention that week, and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Ron is nothing but a prat, Hermione. Just because he hurt you, it doesn't mean that the world's turned its back on you."
Hermione glowered at him, "What do you care, Malfoy?" She demanded before turning her back to him.
He watched her walk away from him, already deciding how he'd show that he did care. Every fight he saw Ron and Hermione have for the next week, Draco would run after her, and hold her while she cried. After just another week of him being there after every fight, Hermione started to seek him out instead. She was finally starting to realize that she wasn't alone.
"A loyal friend is so hard to find, Draco. Thank you! I finally am starting to feel like I can face the day again."
"I'll always be here to break your fall, 'Mione," He said holding her after another fight, he stared into her no longer tear filled eyes, "I can mend a broken heart," He whispered before placing his fingers under her chin and gently drawing her face closer until he'd placed his lips to hers.
Hermione responded fervently, pressing closer to him as though trying to burrow under his skin. He reluctantly broke the kiss, before they could go any farther. He would love to have her in every way possible, but not until she was completely back to her old self.
"I promise you, 'Mione, you'll breathe again. It's going to take time, but you will breathe again, and I will be here every step of the way."
"I feel so alone sometimes, Draco. It makes it harder and harder to get through the days."
"When you feel all alone, tell me. I will tame your wild, wild, heart one of these days.
"You already are," She whispered before kissing him passionately. She held none of her growing feelings for him back from that kiss, and he didn't hold his feelings back either.
"Just remember to let me be the one you call."
"Now I know that if I need to crash, then I can crash and burn and I won't be alone."
