Danny stood by the window in the McGarrett household staring out at the ocean. His mind was in a whirl as he tried to comprehend what had happened that day. He had shot an innocent man but Gracies life was in danger and he would do anything to save his little girl. If he had lost her, his life would be worthless, there would be nothing left for him. He knew that there was other people on this Island that he loved and who loved him, but there were only two people that made up his heart and one of them was Gracie and he didnt think that he could survive with only half a heart.

He was so busy with the thoughts in his head that he didnt hear someone come up behind him and slide their arms around his waist. He was pulled back against a firm chest and let out a shakey breath as he lent against the one who held the other side of his heart.

"Its ok babe, shes safe, Gracies safe."

"Thanks to you." Danny said quietly. "God I could of lost her today Steve." His voice was shaking and a tear ran down his cheek. Steve leaned down and kissed away the stary tear.

"We saved her baby, we saved our little girl." At the sound of those whispered words, Danny turned in his partners arms and let the dam brake and sobbed into his partners shoulder. Steve just held him tight and stroked his hair letting Danny cry out all the pain and anger.

"Its ok sweetheart, let it out. Im here, I love you." Steve felt his heart brake a little as he heard Dannys cries and felt the tears soaking in to his tshirt. He felt his anger rising against Dannys ex partner, for the pain he put Danny through the first time around andhe want to bring him back from the dead and kill him all over again for what he had done to the two most important people in his life. His mind traveled back to when Steve had killed Dannys ex partner. He had stared into the mans eyes, had even listened to the bastard begging for his life, just pulled out his gun and aimed. All it took was one shot, straight to the head and it was all over. Nobody hurt or threatened his family. No-one.

Steve was brought out of his memories as he felt Danny shift in his arms. Danny pulled his head back and looked at steve. At that present moment Steve had thought he never looked more beautiful than he did now. He looked into Dannys beautiful blue eyes, so open and vunerable, redrimmed from the tears and knew then that he would never love anyone like he loved his Danno.

"Thank you." Danny smiled slightly as he spoke to Steve.

"For what?"

"For everything, for saving Grace, for saving me, for loving me. I couldnt ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. I love you and I know Gracie does too."

"I love both of you. Danny, you and grace." Steve moved his hand up and stroked Danny's cheek with his thumb. "And I always will. You two are my life and I wouldnt have it any other way."

"Thank you." Danny smiled shyily and leaned forward and kissed Steve on the lips.

"Come on you, lets go to bed its been a long day. "

They stared walking to the stairs hand in hand when Danny stopped and pulled Steve to him.

"Steve can you promised me one thing." Danny whispered with his face close to Steve's.

"Anything." Steve whispered against his lips.

"Hold me. Just hold me and never let go, ever?"

Steve smiled and pecked him on the lips and pulled him in to his arms. " I promise babe, forever."
