The wooded countryside was beautiful. Bundles of trees littered the grassy landscape was it added on to the beauty of this paradise. I was transporting goods on a wagon to Lowton when I saw I young girl crying staggering across the fallen leaves. "What is the matter?" I asked as I bid my two horses, Zeus and Apollo to stop. "H- Hungry... Need f- f- Food..." And with that, the girl fainted. I made camp here to see if she was all right. Many hours later, in the evening as the sun went down; she awoke to a sound of an angry raven searching for prey. "W- Where am I?" she stuttered as I readied her some broth. "You fainted on the road, and so I made camp to offer shelter to you. Bad weather shall come soon. What is your name, child?" "Jane Elliot." "Here's something to keep you warm and to eliminate your hunger." I handed her a cup of the thick soup as she eat it viciously, like a starved animal. She quickly finished the first cup and asked for more. I gave some more to her and found that I had given my own ration to her. I remained silent as she eat. I scraped the remnants of the pot's produce onto my own bowl. "How did you end up here? In the middle of the woods?" "I came from..." "I saw her heat up and her face turned a grotesque purple." "I came from... Gateshead Hall." "That far? It's over 50 miles from here." "I left to visit my aunt and I... ran out of food." I stopped questioning her, for I knew she was lying. A few moments passed, and Jane yawned. A sign of utmost sleepiness. She eventually passed off into the dream world as I took a last peek out the tent before settling in for the night and drifting off to sleep.

--The Next Day—

I was up before Jane to check my load of goods to see that they hadn't been stolen. I made breakfast and ate some before she woke so I wouldn't be overgenerous again. My stomach hurt from the accidental fast I had gone through. So I rejoiced when the porridge touched my lips. It was a cold day, and I knew that it would be harder for me to deliver my supplies to Lowton. Then I saw Jane crawl out of the tent. Her face had much more color then the day before but she still had this certain sadness in her eyes. I gave her breakfast and this time she didn't eat as madly as she did at yesterday's meal. After eating she thanked me for the food. "Do you know any house where someone might let me stay?" she asked. "The Rivers Household. Not far from here. In Morton, a small village. I could take you there if you like."

--30 Minutes Later—

She had accepted my offer. I was going that way, anyway. Apollo and Zeus trotted many miles towards Morton. They would be rewarded with piles of hay and abundant stores of grain. Eventually we got to Morton and I led Jane to the Rivers House. The owner was a man by the name of St John Rivers, a rather hard man, but a good one. I knocked on the door. The wait was only momentarily before a tall swarthy fellow opened it. "Hello, St John." I said to the person that had opened the door. "How are you?" he replied. His voice was sort of cold. "What do you want?" "This young girl, named Jane needs shelter. I found her in the woods. She was almost starved." "I will take her in." Jane walked nervously into the house.

--15 Minutes Later— After having tea with St. John, I continued my journey. I passed a Manor. It was huge. 'In such a desolate place' I thought to myself as I looked around to see nothing but lush meadows, a mansion, and a sign saying Thornfield Hall In one of the biggest windows, I viewed a man looking into the distance and pacing the room in which he was in. he was 30-35 years old. He had the same sadness that Jane had in his eyes, or that might just have been my imagination. He was too far me to get a fair look at him anyway.
