Kurt held Blaine's hand as they strolled along the sidewalk. The night sky was dark and rather lonesome without the moon's company. The air was cold and crisp, and it was quiet. The air blew its breath through the golden Autumn leaves with grace. They did not speak as they made their way home to their apartment. It was a comfortable silence.
The night had been wonderful in every way. They'd gone to the movie theatre to see a romantic comedy, eaten at their favorite resturaunt, and there were plenty of sweet kisses in between. Not to mention the coffee they shared that morning at the Lima Bean- where Blaine had told him he loved him for the very first time.
Holding Blaine's hand with his right, he slowly turned the silver band with his thumb on the left. He looked up to the sky to see the faint twinkling specs of light that lingered among the expanse of navy and black. They were so beautiful. Witnessing one particular star die and dissapear, he snapped back to reality.
Kurt turned his eyes to his soulmate's. Blaine's eyes were golden hazel, like tiger's eye stone, and they matched the smile on his lovely lips. Kurt smiled too, when he followed suit and looked into his. They were vibrant crystaline blue. A pair of flawless eyes that put the bluest seas and the brightest stars to shame.
Blaine grinned, flashing a set of gorgeous white teeth, and kissed Kurt on the mouth, holding his jaw in place gently with his fingertips. The kiss was broken by a quiet, yet startling snap, like that of a twig. Kurt jumped at the small unexpected noise, and Blaine's grin grew even wider. Kurt shoved him playfully with a smile and they conitnued their walk.
As they stepped along past closed shops and shivering trees, Kurt began to slow to a stop with a furrowed brow. When he turned, his husband asked him what was wrong.
"Oh, nothing," he mumbled distantly, and on they went. He could have sworn he heard faint footsteps from behind. Though suspicious, he put it out of his mind and carried on.
