Midorima was on his way to school, while doing his same routine, listening to the Oha-Asa.
Oha-Asa announced, "For Cancers, you might meet something or someone important today, that will change your life forever! However, your luck won't be the best! Your lucky item of the day is: A person who doesn't believe in fortune-telling, horoscopes, lucky item etc., as the ones that won't believe are the perfect shields! Your luck shall be increase by 40% if it's a female of the ages between 13 -21! Thank you! Now, moving on to Leos..."
Midorima gave a few of his snobbish grunts, as his best friend, (or his only friend,) Takao tagged along, "Morning, Shin-chan! No luck today?"
He gave his usual glare, "Yeah. You know any girl who doesn't believe in fate?"
"Eh?" Takao tilted his head, "Why do you need someone like that?"
"Oha-Asa suggests that I find a girl between the ages of thirteen to twenty-one that doesn't believe in fate.."
"Um.. I suppose..." he scratched his head, "What about you go to the Science Club? People there don't believe in such things..."
"Hmm... The Science Club.." he pushed up his glasses, "Takao, I've never heard you say something to wise before."
"I... try to not take that as an insult.."
[in the hallway of school]
You were walking casually in the hallway, burying your nose in a Science novel.
Out of the blue, a tall figure knocked you down.
"Sorry," you mumble quickly as you stood back up and relocate your glasses at the right place.
The person who knocked you down was a tall, thin boy with green hair and tape on his fingers. As you were about to continue strolling down the hallway, he held your arm back.
"Please, let me go." you said in a trembling voice.
"Are you the president of the Science Club?"
You nodded, as his intimidating eyes sent thousands of chills down your spine.
"(Last name), I need a request."
"What is it, Midorima-kun?"
"Follow me for one day."
"WHAT?"
"Just one day."
"No way!" you tried to jerk yourself away from him.
"C'mon, just do it, (First name)-chan!" a boy with black raven boy stood behind Midorima.
"Takao-kun, can you please explain what's going on. I hope you're not insane too."
"Err... Well, Oha-Asa said that Cancers should find a girl between the ages of 13 to 21 that's doesn't believe in Oha-Asa.." Takao said.
"But I don't wanna!" you said childishly.
"Look, if you follow me, I'll treat you for something, what do you want?" the green haired pushed up his glasses again.
"Ooh! I want red bean soup!"
Your answer left Takao and Midorima in astonishment.
"(First name)-chan, are you sure? I thought only Midorima drinks that stuff.."
"What? It tastes really good, and since it'll warm your body up since it's winter."
"Yeah, Takao, not only losers drink it!" Midorima confidently said.
You let Midorima drag you to the vending machine.
"Here." he gave you a can.
"Thanks." you gulped the drink.
Then, the first bell rang.
"Later." you said, as he pulled your arm back.
"Where are you going, (Last name)?"
"To class." you readjusted your glasses.
"You're following me."
"But... what about class?"
"We go to the same class, you dummy."
"We do?"
"Class 1A."
"I cannot believe that I never knew there was such a freak in my class."
"What did you say?"
"N-N-N-Nothing."
"Good. We don't want to be late for Biology class."
And, he pulled you to class and let you sit beside him. Takao stepped into the class and saw where you were sitting and exclaimed, "That's my spot!"
"Not for today, Takao."
"Why?"
"I need her energy, so go away."
"B-B-But..."
"Takao, I need to achieve my destiny."
"Seriously? What destiny do you even have?"
"I need to find someone that'll change my life forever, and (Last name) will help me."
"She is?"
"I am?" you looked at him.
"Don't be a fool, Takao, (Last name)." Midorima pushed up his glasses.
"Class, settle down." the biology teacher came in to the scene.
"Fine, I'll just sit behind to Kaiya-san, then."
Kaiya sat three rows away from your current spot. Which was the perfect spot for Takao to spy on you two.
Surprisingly, the two of you remained in silence for the whole day, and you didn't even make eye contact with him. But what Takao spotted was Midorima taking quick glimpses at you from time to time.
[class ends]
"Okay, Midorima-kun, if you don't need anything, I'll be going to the Science Club now."
"No! You're following me!"
"School's already over, and I have a meeting!"
"I have basketball practice too, you know."
"Then you go your way, and I go my way." you stood up.
"Can't you just like.. Skip a meeting?"
"I'm the president of the club! How do I not go? And even if I really skip it, do you expect me to watch you practice basketball for 3 solid hours?"
"Yes." he replied simply.
"NO!"
"Please." he eyes got apologetic and gentle as he place his taped fingers on your shoulder. His gentleness even made you shiver.
You sighed, "Fine, just for today?"
"Of course." he pushed his glasses up.
"Ugh." you grunted.
"You don't even have anything important to do today. Don't complain."
"I DO! I HAVE A MEETING TO ATTEND TO!"
"That is not important." he gave a slight smirk.
"Whatever. Just bring me there already. I don't want to waste time."
[At the gym]
"Shin-chan! You're late for practice." Takao waved at him.
"I'm sorry, but my lucky item refuses to come."
"Midorima-kun, I'm already here." you pouted as your tugged his jersey to get his attention.
You didn't see his face, but instead, you saw Takao saying, "Looks like Shin-chan has achieved his destiny~!"
"Shut up and die, Takao!" he pushed up his glasses.
"(First name)-chan, you can go sit at the bench there, so you can see SOMEONE with a better angle~"
"Eh?" you tilted your head, but you sat there anyway.
Their practice game started. Needless to say, Midorima's team was leading. He actually looked really good when he did his full-court shot. You actually admired how he could get the perfect angle without even calculating. Sports wasn't your thing, so you took out a book about astronomy from your bag and started reading it.
"(First name)-chan, eyes on him!" Takao shouted.
"What? Who?" you looked around like a clueless sloth.
"Takao, pay attention to the game." Midorima snapped.
The game ended quickly with Midorima's team leading by 116 marks.
"Good game. I'm going home." you mumbled quickly and packed your things.
"The day isn't over yet, (Last name)."
"What? I stayed back to hang around until your practice was over, now what?"
"Oha Asa predicted a 24-hour thing."
"NO. I AM NOT FOLLOWING YOU ANYWHERE ELSE!" you crossed your arms.
"I haven't found someone that'll change my life forever! So just stick with me for a little while longer!"
"I think Shin-chan has already found the person~" Takao interrupted.
"Takao, please, just ugh, tell him to let me go home!" you said childishly.
"(First name)-chan, no matter what I say, it won't work. Sorry.."
"Why?" you pouted.
"What if he gets eaten up by a sea monster?" Takao's eyes grew wider, "What if a plane falls onto him?"
You started laughing because how Takao described it was really funny. However, Midorima interrupted by make a noise of disgust.
"Fine, I'll follow you until you achieve whatever you're achieving." you pushed up your glasses, "But I'm only doing this because Takao-kun asked me to!"
"Okay. Let's go home." he picked up his bag.
"Wait, what home?"
"MY home." he looked at you to reassure his answer.
"I am going to YOUR house?"
"Psst, (First name)-chan, he means it!" Takao whispered.
You looked down and sighed, then slowly nodded. You put on your winter coat while he put on his. Then, the both of you started walking to his house both of you had your noses stuck in your books. You were reading about Animal Psychology, while he was reading about Horoscopes. It was an awfully cold, awkward walk of silence.
