EDITED!
I've fixed it up quite a bit. Okay, not quite abit, just a few words here and there, a scentence or two.
Hope this makes more sense.
I don't OWN!
Enjoy!
The open sea! The salt air rushing past as the ship sails through the water.
Captain Hermione Granger, the fiercest captain to sail the Magical Sea. She used to be a Muggle, until her town was raided when she was 11. She was taken onto the Gryffindor, a powerful ship that sailed under the fearless Captain Minerva McGonagall. Who was the Second in Command of the Hogwarts Fleet, headed by Albus Dumbledore.
Hermione gathered her crew of children, they were a small group, hiding their true loyalty from the first mate, who didn't hesitate to make traitors walk the plank.
The crew, consisting of her, the captain, her first mate, Harry Potter, their gunman, Ronald Weasley, his sister, Ginny Weasley, their healer, Neville Longbottom, and Luna Lovegood.
The crew was second rate at first, they stole a government ship they named the Crookshank, and started their reign.
Today, they would be getting to the village of Hogsmeade, where a shipment of ale was reported to arrive.
"Hello oh Captain of mine. How far til we get to dock?" Ginny asked as she hung onto a piece of rope.
"Two hours til. The shipment won't get there for another hour after that so we'll have time to get food before we disembark." Hermione grinned and breathed in deep.
Harry and Ron were playing a game of chess on the deck.
"Check" Harry mumbled.
"Check mate. Come on, you almost had me." Ron grinned and laughed.
"You had three finishing moves, nothing I did would have helped."
"Well, when you put it like That." Ron continued to grin while setting up the next game.
Ron just wanted to find his family, who he and Ginny were taken from when they were children, too young for Ginny to remember.
Harry, Ginny, and Luna just wanted to be free to travel. And Neville wouldn't let them go without him.
The one person who kept them from settling down, was General Thomas Riddle. The madman was the general of sixty ships and even has a few pirate ships at his disposal. It was part of his fleet that they got their ship. And ever since the man has been on their tail.
"Hey, is that another ship?" Luna pointed out in the distance. Hermione's heart sped. She quickly pulled out her telescope and checked the sails.
"It's the Slytherin! What was the last communication from our inside man?" Hermione called out. Harry pulled out his notebook, where he kept all important information, and flipped it open to the last page.
"It is currently under the command of Severus Snape. Our inside man has confirmed that Snape is under both Dumbledore's command and Riddle's." Harry told her.
Hermione cringed. Her crew has been low on food and water and is in no condition to fight more then once. If they fight the Slytherin, they won't be able to get the ale shipment and their deal would be moot with Scriminger.
"We will try to avoid them. Hopefully they haven't seen us. They are headed in a similar direction." Hermione mused to herself.
"We can take them captain." Ginny grinned. When they had first stolen the Crookshank Hermione had assumed that she would just be a passenger, she had an air of superiority that reminded Hermione of the rich brats that she and her mother served before she was taken, she thought that the girl would be the same as the rich girls she remembered and would cower at the first sign of danger, until she put a sword in her hand.
The girl was probably the best sword fighter that Hermione had ever seen, right up there with McGonagall and Dumbledore.
"Sorry Ginny, not today. Harry and Ron are dead tired, and I don't want to risk injury so soon before a raid." Hermione rested a hand on her shoulder when she slumped.
"We'll fight soon, just another hour til we get to land and another to fight." Ginny nodded solemnly before going off to talk to Luna at the other end of the ship.
They managed to evade the Slytherin ship, but right before dock they received a hawk, who had a letter tied to his leg.
"I barely managed to convince Severus to turn toward London, I expect to get a due." Was all it said. Hermione rolled her eyes, Harry made sure to add that to his notebook.
The hawk flew back to his master as they docked.
"Food!" Ron cheered with Harry. Hermione laughed.
"Neville, you stay with the ship. Luna and Ginny, I need you guys to stock up before you get food. Ron, Harry, you and I will be taking in the 'sights'." Hermione grinned. She, Ginny, and Luna had changed into dresses, their clothes being too noticeably pirate, before getting off. Harry and Ron made sure to be presentable as well. They exited the ship looking like nobles. Hermione made sure that they could easily defend themselves and blend in at the same time.
"So, where to first Miss?" Ron questioned, holding his arm out. She took it lightly and they walked through the market. Harry walked behind them, looking the part of servant boy perfectly.
They made sure to keep the docks in sight, and stay close so they could move when the ship came in.
"Oo, look. Another ship is coming in. Maybe it will have something I can bring home to Daddy!" Hermione fake squealed before dragging the boys over. Ron grinned sheepishly when the shop keepers gave him pitying looks. Harry hid his own grin.
They met Ginny and Luna on their way.
"Ready for departure miss?" Ginny asked.
"Oh yes. We will be leaving very soon." She smiled sweetly. She caught sight of a tall man, pirate by his looks, who was following them.
"Looks like we have an unwanted guest." Hermione whispered. They had gotten to a deserted ally, near the docking ship, when the man made his presence known.
"You are Captain Hermioninny correct?" The strong accent caught her off guard. The statement more so.
"Depends on who is asking." She said sweetly, unhooking her gown slowly.
"My name is Viktor Krum. I am a pirate without a crew. I wish to join yours, if you'd have me." He knelt down.
"Yeah, no. It's a dog eat dog world out there, and we don't know where your loyalty lies." Hermione let her gown slip off to show her regular clothes. She pulled her sword out before he could stand.
Ron and Ginny already had theirs drawn. Harry had his out a second later.
"We can trust him." Luna said calmly. Hermione ignored her.
"Come guys, the shipment is ripe for the taking." And they left him there, still kneeling, without a second glance.
"You think we should have done that? I mean, he could have gone back to his ship with reinforcements." Ron asked after they pillaged the ale.
"If he does he does. We'll be long gone before he can." Hermione told him before they got to their ship.
"Neville, let's go!" Hermione yelled out. Neville obeyed the command and they set sail.
It wasn't until they were far into sea that Neville showed himself, and that Viktor showed himself.
"Er, hi guys. You see, this guy here, kinda hopped aboard right before you did and I didn't have time to kick him off before we left." Neville told them, his sword poking Viktor on the small of his back.
"Seriously?!" Hermione yelled.
"We barely have enough to support us six, we can't have you here. Tell me why I shouldn't just kill you now?" Hermione glared and leveled her sword with his throat.
"Uh, I can work. I am an excellent sword fighter, I can navigate a ship with my eyes closed?" His voice got higher and higher as Hermione's blade got closer to his neck, until it stopped, just barely piercing him.
"A navigator?" She was an alright navigator, Harry as well, but the rest of then were shite at it. And she and Harry have other duties.
"Yes ma'am."
"Why do you want to join my crew?"
"Er, well." Viktor pinkened.
"We fought before. The Durmstrang ship, I was the navigator for it. But recently, the government has finally sunk us. I barely got out alive. I was hoping that you would allow me to join you. You are the only crew that has ever evaded the government without becoming part, or having rogue crew members." Viktor told them. The pink changed to red as his anger grew.
"Okay. We will allow you a trial period. If you try anything, anything at all, I will not hesitate to kill you." Hermione finally removed the sword from his neck, blood dribbled out of the small wound.
"Neville, fix him up. We need to get to Knockturn before Tuesday." She turned and entered her quarters, slamming the door closed.
Well? You can't really tell the difference in this chapter then what I had originally. I'll get all five chapters out today.
