So Inviting

Your face falls upon the lake,

glistening in the sun.

My heart aches for yours,

for the pain you feel inside.

My hand falls upon your cheek,

so cold but tender to my touch.

All I see is darkness in your eyes,

pain flooding out of your irises.

I want to hold you,

to take all the torture away.

The scent of danger floats off your glass skin,

drawing me closer and closer to you.

I want to be with you,

to relieve you of your pain.

If you could just let me in,

then I could bring you back to the surface.
