Ditzy trotted happily across ponyville, her head held high as she carrys a fresh basket of a variety of muffins. The smell made it's way up her nose and her mouth started to drewl at the smell of fresh bread, cinnameon, and other spices. Finally the mare arrived back at her house, peering inside and turning the light on before fully stepping inside. "Dinky? We were out of muffin materials so I went to buy muffins on my way home from work!"
No reply.
She looked around and put the basket of muffins down, pausing for a moment and looking at the muffins. They gave her a haunting looking and she just glared back at them, finally quickly swinging herself at them and shoving a muffin into her mouth. Ditzy grinned, trying to chew but she put to much in. The mare managed to break it down and she happily swallowed, her tongue rolling around her mouth to get the lasting flavor that only made her crave it more.
"Dinky? I have yummy muffins~! Mmm, cinnameon, your favorite! Better come here before I eat it all, you know I will do that I've done it before!"
No reply.
Ditzy doo sighed. /where is that darn filly?/
The house smelled of muffins now that she had been there for a minute, trying to lure her daughter down, but there was a stale and unsettling smell.
/Vomit?/
For the first time she noticed something. There was a disguisting smell from upstairs and she trotted up, following it to Dinky's room where her daughter layed asleep, green lining her mouth and a bucket full of puke next to her bed. Ditzy shrivled in disguist but then she felt a shot of panic and concern rush through her.
"Dinky?! W-what happened my little muffin?!"
The only reply was a grown from the little filly, and Dinky slowly pried her eyes open.
"I... felt sick... at school... and so I came home... but the teachers couldn't... g-get ahold of you... s-so..."
Ditzy felt a tang of guilt rise in her stomache. She remembered when she got back to the office after she had finished her morning mail delivery's the office mare said that she had a call. The grey pegasus had not called back due to her needing to hurry and get home to Ditzy; who she did not know was the reason she got the phone call.
"Shh, don't speak little muffin. I'll go get you some water and try to get your fever down."
Ditzy out her hoof to Dinky's head and felt it was burning hot, much higher than what it usually was.
"Just lay her and if you get too hot before mama comes back, just push your blanket off."
Without waiting for a reply Ditzy rushed downstairs, getting a bowl of water and a fresh towl. The mare went back to her daughter's room to find Dinky vommiting in her bucket again. Dinky wiped the left over green thick liqui from her mouth, frowning at her mother who looked almost terrified for her.
Ditzy quickly trots over, socking the towel in water and squeezing the excess water out. She puts the towel on Dinky's head and frowns. Dinky was panting now, and Ditzy pushed the bowl over to her, trickling some over the water into her mouth.
Dinky swallowed, giving her mother a reasuring look before smiling and going limp, loosing conciousness.
"D-dinky?"
The gray mare slowly croaks, pushing Dinky lightly to see if she was still concious.
"D-Dinky!"
The bowl filled with water falls to the floor and breaks, glass and water littering it with the sudden jolt Ditzy did.
She picks Dinky's limp body up, flying out the open window and rushing to Ponyville hospital.
