"Now, Kenshin, please promis me you'll come back by Christmas Eve!" Kaoru warned as she opened to door for her crush. "I am not going to have Christmas without you!"
"Oro..." Kenshin sighed as he walked out the door. "I'll be back! I'll be back!"
His voice trailed off as he walked into the snow.
Kaoru sighed worridly as his body faded with the snow.
Yahiko and Sano looked at the doorway, faces blue. "CLOSE THE DOOR!"
Kaoru closed the door.
Ayame and Suzumi ran to Kaoru. "Where is Uncle Kenny going?"
"Kenshin went to get some things for the holidays..." Kaoru said quietly. "He'll be back, don't worry..."
The girls began to wimper. "Uncle Kenny..."
She hugged them. "He'll be back... He'll be back..."
Yahiko stared at her. "Are you calming them down, or are you calming yourself?"
She looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please... Yahiko... I am not sure..."
Yahiko nodded and just walked away.
Sano looked at the girls. "Leave Miss Kaoru alone for awhile, okay?"
The girls, and Sano, left in silence.
'It's not that I am worried about the snow or anything... I want to tell him something... on Christmas... he needs to be here on Christmas Day...'

December's winds continued throughout the month. Kaoru just stared at the window, waiting for Kenshin to come home. She missed him dearly and she wanted him back NOW. But as the days got shorter and shorter, Kenshin did not come.
She refused to eat much, and kept on waiting.
Sano and Yahiko were pretty worried. And it wasn't about Kenshin.
"She has to snap out of it..." Yahiko said.
"She won't..." Sano sighed.
"She must," Yahiko growled.
"Yahiko, nani-" Sano Started.
Yahiko charged with his bokken. "KAORU! YOU STUPID RACCOON! SNAP OUT OF IT!"
He whacked her across her face.
Kaoru hit the floor with a red mark on her face.
Yahiko covered his mouth. "Kaoru... I..."
She got up and dusted herself off. She assumed her position on the stool she sat at.
Yahiko growled. "You are so thick-headed!"
Kaoru didn't care.
"YOU JERK! WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING?! DO YOU EVEN CARE?! WE ARE WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU AND HERE YOU ARE JUST STARING AT A STUPID WINDOW!"
Kaoru smiled slowly.
"OI! OI! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!"
Kaoru got up and ran to the door.
"KAORU?!"
She ran outside.
"KAORU?!"
She ran in the snow and hugged someone.
"Miss Kaoru?!" Kenshin yelled as she hugged him.
"Kenshin! You're early! Merry Christmas!"
"Miss Kaoru! Get inside!"
Kaoru kissed him. "Okay... as long as you are coming with me too..."
