Meg yawned as she waited behind the freshman dumbass that couldn't count his change properly at the small coffee stand in the plaza. No one should ever allow humans to be awake at this ungodly hour. It's bullshit really. She glanced down at her watch as the kid dropped a dime and it rolled across the pavement. The guy behind the stand gave her a very wry apologetic look making her smile. His blue eyes squinted with laugh lines as he offered a friendly grin back.
He was cute… really cute… holy crap he was stunning. Meg's eyebrows shot up in surprise as the guy licked his lips. The freshman came back holding his dime and walked away with a small coffee, totally unaware of Meg's cold stare after him.
"I thought this was college? Educated people? Why can't a guy count simple change anymore?" Meg snapped as she ordered her Mucho Grande Choco-latte. The guy chuckled and turned slightly to mix her coffee.
"You'd be suprised the amount of crap I get walking up here. He's not the first. There was one guy who I had to count out the money for him because he didn't know how to count by fives. How do you not know how to count by fives?" The guy chuckled. Meg's brown eyes slid down his body and watched his firm arms lift the top of the coffee machine looking for a filter. Cas, his name tag read. What a odd name for now.
"So are you new? I've never seen you around." Meg said boldly playing with the paper cover of a straw as she waited.
"I've been… around.. I just started working here." Cas said and leaned against the counter as the coffee brewed.
"Interesting. " Meg smiled.
Cas grinned and leaned further across the counter, lifting one eyebrow and giving a lazy grin.
"So… come here often?" He joked with a slight slur.
"I do actually." Meg grinned pinching his arm making him grin large.
"Good, nice to meet you then, well… actually what is your name?" Cas asked.
"It's Meg."
"Meg short for Megan?"
"Nope just Meg." She smiled as he lifted a cup from the stack and filling it.
"So I'm supposed to write your name on this right?" Cas asked pulling the cap off a sharpie marker between his teeth.
"Nah, I know who I am." Meg chuckled.
"Good because I didn't write your name." He said replacing the lid and handing her the warm cup. She spun it around slowly and glanced at the small line for names.
429-555- 5551 ;)
"Oh you're smooth." She said taking a sip of the coffee.
"Thank you."
"What's your major?"
"Theology and religion." Cas grinned putting his elbows on the counter and gazing at Meg.
"Ooooo gonna be a preacher man?" Meg asked in a smooth southern accent. Cas laughed and looked down at the counter blushing.
"I guess…" Cas grumbled smiling.
"That's cool Clarence."
"Yeah, thanks." Cas grinned.
"Well I gotta go cutie." Meg said smiling. Cas laughed and leaned over the counter pecking Meg on the lips.
"I feel stupid doing this Meg…" Cas said rolling his eyes.
"Oh don't even, you know you love it." Meg grinned winking at him. She laughed as she walked away from her boyfriend Cas. So maybe she enjoyed making up scenarios of meeting Cas all over again, but it was too cute to see him all flustered. She happened to glance back at him and his steel blue eyes were following her. She blew a kiss and raced off to her first class.
