a/n: Another wee one shot; you could call it a drabble really. Garcia's POV. Morgan in a suit..mmm ;)
Disclaimer: I don't own Criminal Minds.
Garcia watched as Morgan sauntered into the bull pen with a confident stride, the suit jacket making his broad shoulders look even more defined and the dark shirt underneath bringing out his eyes. She chewed softly on the end of her pen as she followed his every move with her eyes.
He'd become a lot more serious lately but their flirting was still there when it was just the two of them on the phone or when he came to get the information personally and she felt it was kicked up a notch or two due to it being less frequent. And she sure as hell wasn't complaining; the man certainly knew how to make her blood boil.
Although to be fair all he had to do was walk in with the suit jacket on - badge, cuffs and gun hidden until the jacket flapped open to show just what he did for a living – and although she missed those tight t-shirts and the oh so gorgeously sinful jeans the man could certainly work a suit. Now if only he would work it...off.
She really wanted him to take it off; or rather she wanted to be the one to take it off for him. But alas he was her friend, her best friend, and she was spoken for but damn the man was driving her to distraction; and far, far too easily these days in fact.
Sometimes she'd catch herself staring and would force herself to look away, other times she would try to ignore the urge to turn around and do nothing but devour him with her eyes every time she heard his familiar knock on her door or his booming voice as he walked into the room. And the sometimes scary thing was that she often didn't need to hear him to know that he was there. It was as if her eyes gravitated towards him the second he came within fifty feet, the hairs on teh back of her neck standing up, her heart rate increasing.
The man was a Babe Magnet, that was for sure, but this was getting beyond ridiculous. She could hardly think straight, she was day dreaming a lot more and now when one of her snappy comebacks left her lips she wanted nothing more than to fulfil them, to make good on every single promise she had ever made to him over the years. And by George that'd be a lot of things. Derek Morgan had led her to mentally cheat on her boyfriend, over and over again. And she really didn't give a damn.
Not when with each and every teasing comment, or every compliment, her pulse picked up and she got that feeling in the pit of her stomach, almost like butterflies. It seemed that Derek Morgan was unintentionally ruining her for any other guy, including her boyfriend, and he was completely clueless.
It had all started - who was she kidding? - It had all resurfaced when Hotch had stepped down and Morgan got the 'promotion' and along with that came the suits. And it had spiralled since then; the flirting growing in intensity as it fell in frequency and with the flirting came more talking once again. They were working their way back to "them", but on the way Garcia knew they'd picked up a lot more than they had before, and right now she didn't mind one single bit. Although she knew that Kevin did. But at this moment in her life, when everything else was going so well she found herself worrying less and less about what Kevin thought about anything Derek related.
She knew it may not be her smartest move, but who cared about smart when you best friend was as delectable as Morgan was in a suit?
