Cabe smiled as he looked around the room. Time had passed sense Scorpion's beginning. It may not have been kind to some, but the conclusion was just what they needed.

Toby was much the same, though his face a scruffier and his eyes were more tired. A gold band was on his finger, and his clothes were a little cleaner than usual. Other than that, he was still the same.

Happy stood at her workbench. Another simple gold band encircled her finger, identical to Toby's. Her hair had random small braids in them, her fingernails had been painted sloppily.
Then again, what do you expect from a four-year old?
She adjusted her standing position. Her back was starting to act up from leaning over all the time. She sat back into the chair toby pulled up for her, leaning down and kissing her cheek.

A slam of the door and running footsteps. Into the room pounded three tiny tots. A little black-haired girl ran to Happy, a smaller version of Toby's hat on her head. Her hair was in pigtails, and bounced as her small figure ran to her mother and father, the biggest grin on her face.

Two little boys crashed in behind her, laughing loudly. One had a slightly bigger frame then the other, but them smaller one slowed so he could keep up.

Sylvester looked up from where he had been sitting. His hair was greyer, and worry lines were more pronounced on his face. Round glasses sat on his table, and he put them on as the bigger boy hugged him. Sylvester ran his hands thru his son's dark brown, smooth hair.

For a moment, Sylvester looked over at the small memorial in the next room. A picture of beautiful Megan on the seashore, another of her holding a small boy. Candles were lit. It had been a year now, sense she was gone.

Cabe watched the younger boy call out loudly, "Hey dad, the teacher didn't understand my quantum physics philosophy."

Walter walked down the steps, "Did you explain it properly?"

"Just like you said to, but he said I needed to, and I quote, 'refine my knowledge' before making an assumption. Hi mom."

Paige smiled at her youngest son, "How was your day Peter? Michal? Angel?"

Michal held out a picture to Sylvester, "I drew this out in class, it's an idea for a new firewall safety program."

Angel held up her keychain wrench that she kept on her backpack at all times, "An' I hitted Dwilan on the nose, an' he gave me a boo-boo on my awm."

Happy tensed, "Dilan who?"

Angel shrugged, "I don' not know, but he's pwetty."

Toby swung his 4 year old daughter up into the air, and the room echoed from her laughter.

Walter leaned down to look at Peter's presentation, when the door opened again. Everyone looked up.

He was almost as tall as Walter now, dressed exactly like him. His dark eyes had joy in them at seeing his family.

"Sorry I was late, I had several students who had a question ."

Walter nodded, "Why did you say your brother needed to refine his assumption more?"

Ralph placed his bag down at the desk, "Because it was just that, an assumption."

Peter high fived his older brother. Ralph, in turn, ruffled Peter's yellow hair.

Cabe stood up, slowly, "Alright kids, what's for dinner?"

Happy sighed, "Pizza, I burned the chicken."

"It amazes me that with that brain of yours you can't cook!" Paige exclaimed. Happy rolled her eyes.

Cabe nodded in satisfaction at his family from the head of the table. Time may not always have been kind to them, but right here, right now, it was. And he would hold this moment close forever
