The Unending
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the third age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But people said it was a beginning.
Those people were fools. A Wheel is a constantly turning object. It revolves around and around, and no rotation is different than another. There are no beginnings. The humans who believed that their Age was the Third, or the Seventh, or even the One Hundredth were clueless; the Ages were beyond counting. The events that occurred in the age of Tarmon Gaidon had happened over and over, only with different names and faces. The only ones remembered are the ones- the ta'veran- that changed the Pattern of the Wheel, such as Artur Hawkwing, who's Empire changed the course of the land, and Lews Therin Telamon, who was the reason for saidin to be tainted.
Saidin and saidar. The water that turned the Wheel, and the only force that could stop Shai'tan, the Dark One. Humans had discovered many things with and about these, but had not understood the true power and significance of that great force. With it, humans could destroy the Dark One, create life, and even challenge the Creator with it, but they could not- would not- understand. That is one of the greatest failings of that race.
Like everything, the True Source had its opposite. The so-called 'True Power' that stemmed from Shai'tan himself. Luckily, only one human alive wielded that vile power, and he was thankfully far away from unleashing total havoc upon the world. However, he caused enough problems without that. If anyone else, such as the Aes Sedai under that Elaida's control, managed to control that power, the world would be doomed without the Dark One's aid.
The time is close. The seals holding the Dark One's prison are so weak that it is surprising that Shai'tan cannot touch the world already. Unless the Aes Sedai and Asha'man can find a way to strengthen the remaining four, Tarmon Gaidon will come much more quickly than intended. And not all is yet in place. There are still about seven of the Forsaken left on the earth, including the reborn Ishamael, Lanfear, and Balthamel.
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become Legend. But if Shai'tan defeats the Dragon Reborn, all that is, all that was, and all that will be will be undone. Forever.
The Light see to it that that never happens.
